My Hero 1991-92
I bless the day I went to Dr. Richard Claridge with painful bunions - October 1991 in Vancouver, B.C., Canada. I had 'Resection/Realignment' on my left foot Mid October then the right foot the first week of January 1992. I agree - first appointment - bedside manner - kaput! I tossed the 'hot potato' back at him and everything changed. He explained the procedures; everything with all the appointments. This man is my idol. I couldn't walk a block before. Since then I've been on 2 African Historic Expeditions walking 710 miles and 680 miles.

He did a right hip replacement on me in 2016. Nothing went right. Wish I'd have gone to someone else, but when I flrst saw him he said I definitely needed it and he had a "cancelation in the morning". That's a true quote, I should have known better.

Dr. Claridge did a TKR on my right knee in October, 2015. I am a year and a half out from that surgery and still having a great deal of pain in that knee. I have been back to see him 3 times and he tells me my knee is perfect (based on x-rays), but has given me no explanation as to why I am still having so much pain. His attitude is pompous, and I find him rude and not willing to try to understand my frustration. I really wish I had researched orthopedic surgeons more thoroughly.

Horrible bed side manners and has no personality. Extremely rude and not helpful. Not the experience we expected from all the hype Mayo Clinic gets.

I had seen 4 of the top Orthopedic Foot & Ankle surgeons in Phoenix before Dr. Claridge because they wanted to fuse my ankle for a calcaneal fracture. He made me repeat all of my CT scans and x-rays $600 even though I had just had them done. The pompous a## recommended amputating my leg as a primary treatment option when all the other doctors recommended ankle Fusion. If I could give them a 0 Stars I would I filed a complaint with the medical board they said they could not punish him I Dance Now
