He was very nice. He asked me several questions about my neuropathy issues. He explained everything to me for me to understand. I was very pleased with Dr. Diethelm.

Since the covid pandemic I have lost hope for the medical field as whole.I felt like noone really cared anymore. However, I was very very impressed with the information the Dr. Walked into the room knowing about my specific situation. When I say he looked over records he knew about hospital stays, reactions to medicines, the whole nine yards. He didn't just throw a diagnosis at me he took the information he had, test results etc and asked me questions to pin point a huge contribute to my problem. Constant eye contact while breaking it down so that I would understand and a promise to adjust anything as needed. I felt heard, understood, and not thrown under the bus this morning. Thankful my primary Dr. Sent me here!

Dad diagnosed with Dementia
My dad went to see this Dr with what we thought might have been Dementia. He did the 3 word test, ask him questions… We told him what we had been seeing. He diagnosed him with Dementia and put him on medication. He did not offer to do any test, EEG, CT, anything . But at that same appointment, he was excited to talk to my mom about her Restless Leg and get her to try a new medication. A few months later, My dad was recently admitted to hospital for a fall he had, long story short, He does not have Dementia. He has had his right artery in his neck cleaned out, it was 90%clogged. There was also a big blood clot they got out. His left is 60%. And he has a new pacemaker. So instead of getting answers we got a pill. And almost lost my dad.

Love him! He cares for my whole family
I’ve read the negative reviews about Dr Diethelm, and I must say, that anyone who thinks negatively of him doesn’t understand him. He is an exceptional physician, and he may not be a sweet talker, but it’s because he is focused on solving the problems his patients present with. While he may not sit and cut up with you, he genuinely cares about his patients. He listens to every word, and he gets straight to business trying to heal, and help. All you have to do is look into this man’s eyes, and you will know just how much he cares. I speak from experience.I thank God for Dr Diethelm. At the age of 19 our daughter started having unexplained seizures that were non-epileptic. Had it not been for the knowledge, and the due diligence of Dr Diethelm, my child would have never gotten in to see an additional Neurological specialist at Kirklin Clinic, and we would never have known that she had Functional Neurological Disorder. Nor would she have gotten the care needed to overcome them.

Dr. D'ham is rude, dismissive, & lacks knowledge.
I have been repeatedly disappointed by Dr. Diethelm, or Dr. D'ham, as some call him. He's arrogant & entirely too quick to throw around a terminal illness diagnosis. In my uncle's case, Dr. Diethelm says ALS within 10 minutes of talking to my uncle and having had no tests run to confirm it. He doesn't listen & instead interrupts patients to somewhat jokingly remind them they're terminal so other health issues don't matter. Further, he opts to offer pain pills or blocks rather than trying to find the reason behind pain. My uncle simply asked why Dr. Diethelm didn't see a a correlation with his leg weakness & the excruciating pain in his back. His weakness didn't start until the back pain began. Dr. Diethelm simply said, "I don't know," & even acknowledged there is rarely any pain with ALS. My uncle just wanted answers. He may have ALS & will acknowledge it's a possibility, but thus far the only doctors to take his pain seriously have been chiropractors. The wait time is also horrific.

I have neuropathy and circulation disorder. I need a good neurologist and was referred by a friend to Dr Diethelm. I told him about being taken off Flexril after 21 yrs and I had some withdrawal, I didn't sleep for a few nights. He examined my feet and legs and told me I do have Neuropathy but there's nothing he could do for me. Then he said, I can't give you Flexiril. I told him that's ok. at the time, I didn't know that he assumed I was there to get it!! I don't want any narcotics! We left and later I realized that is what he assumed! I was so confused and worried that he told me there's nothing he can do for me. I was thinking I have to live this way and I may not be able to walk if it keeps getting worse. We did not communicate!

Dr. Diethelm has saved my wife's life on more than one occasion, she had brain seizures, he precripted her a great medicine, when my insurance changed, and it had to be preapproved, his staff was working on it but he gave her a three month supply, that is $2100.00 worth, he is very caring, does take the time find the problem and sits down and explains in detail what is going on and what to expect, she has Autoimmune Encephalitis, he had is the best thing that has happened to us we owe him life!!

I think he would be great if you could get to him when you need him. In other words get past the staff. I was diagnosed with RLS and was given med but was prescribed wrong and has taken almost a week to get it straight so I can sleep. I really liked him and seemed to care about my problem but I can't seem to talk with him to get this problem took care of.

On July 2, 2016, I had a brain stem small vessel stroke. Dr. Diethelm is a remarkable physician who is analytical and thoughtful. He works at a high level of efficiency. I especially appreciate his communication skills - active listening, attentiveness, clarification. He has worked cooperatively with me and my family throughout this frightening health crisis. Dr. Diethelm is professional, polite, warm and open to questions. I want to extend my heartfelt appreciation to him and his staff.
