In the early 1990's, Dr Rapport removed a brain tumor from my very young son. It was in a very delicate location near the brain stem. Today in 2021, my son has a BS in Environmental Science and will be getting a degree in Nursing by summer 2022. I am so grateful for the steady hands of this man.

Excellent at clearly explaining very complex neuro issues in a way that was understandable but I did not feel talked down to.

I turned to Dr Rapport when my mother was brought into emergency care in an induced coma in the middle of the night. He listened carefully to what I was hearing from the medical staff and also to what my wishes were and offered clear, thoughtful and logical answers to my questions. He outlined possible scenarios for the decisions I had before me and was a great comfort and counsel in an area in which I was unfamiliar. Based on his suggestion I went back to the medical team with the approach I wanted them to pursue and my mother was healthy and with us for many more years.

I have been seen by Dr Rapport on several occasions and have always found him to be kind, compassionate, and caring. He listens to my concerns, explains the science and research involved in my case, and lets me make decisions about my treatment. I've seen Dr. Rapport perform amazingly well in an emergency situation which, in addition to skill, calls for patience, a cool head, and wisdom each of which he has.

In my experience, Dr. Rapport is a gem among MDs. I've always found him to be patient, compassionate, and kind. Although he is clearly a much sought after and busy physician, never once have I felt rushed when talking with him. He always has answered my (many) questions with thoroughness and care. Add to this Dr. Rapport's prodigious knowledge of the field of neuroscience and his decades of experience, and you end up with one of the finest doctors anywhere.

First, Dr. Rapport is smart and knows his stuff, which you'd expect from a Professor of Neurosurgery. But what sets him apart are the other (important) aspects of a being not just a physician but being a healer: He's not just learned but wise. He cares, he's compassionate, and takes time to empathize with his patients. He took time for every question I asked, no matter how basic or even silly, and he never scoffed or gave the impression he knew more than I (even though he clearly does when it comes to medicine). I give him five stars, but if this rating had six, I'd check that box, easy.

×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Rapport II?
Rapport is one of those physicians who's so full of himself that there's no actual discussion. Whatever the patient says, or tries to say, is dismissed. He'll TELL you [blank]. There is no discussion about [blank]. When I tried to discuss/explain anything, he cut me off mid-sentence. Repeatedly. He's also careless in reading of charts before speaking to patients. Lastly, he is unstable. When he realized he'd made a mistake he yelled at me, "It's chaos around here!" and stormed out of the room.
