This may be my worst medical appointment I've experienced. DR Schmitd was almost 1/2 hour late, appeared dishshoveled, irritable and became highly agitated when I asked "why haven't you looked at my file"? The word "stupid" (see above comments/complaints .. shows a general contempt toward patients) was used by DR and Staff as I walked out. 5 stars for Quackery

No Excuses 4 Bad Medicine – Apr 23, 2021

He was absolutely amazing. I had breast cancer that metastasized to the bone. He did a shoulder arthroplasty. He was so knowledgeable, compassionate and very protective. I couldn't of had a better surgeon. He saved my life. His team is also exceptional. I seen him at Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Zion, IL.. My family loves him and so do I. I would recommend him to anyone. He is the only one that I would let treat me for bone disease.

Went to him for a second opinion for a very rare bone tumor. He came in, seemingly like he was already irritated that he was even having to work, knew NOTHING much at all about my husbands case. He then proceeded to tell us it was stupid to remove the tumor and told us that my husband had a sports injury. My husband is almost 40 and never played sports. We told him this. He was very uncaring, and seems burned out. His attitude and bedside manner are less than mediocre and he honestly does not seem as though he cares about his patients AT ALL. He told me to have my husband take NSAIDs morning and night for pain and “stay away from the narcs” and walked out of the room after I mentioned the fact that was going to just eat my husbands stomach away over the years!! His reply- “well he doesn’t have any intentional problems-he will be fine” and then walked out for good. Well if he doesn’t now, he sure will if we take this quack’s advice. Waste of our time and money coming to see him.

I have been followed by Dr. Schmidt and his professional colleagues for the past 15 years as he performed surgery on me in 2003 which was highly successful. None of the surgeons in my area would perform this type of surgery and I was referred to him. I am so grateful I got such a wonderful referral as Dr. Schmidt is a highly skilled, compassionate, and dedicated surgeon. From start to finish, he provided excellent care and continues to do so for me. Thumbs way up for Dr. Schmidt!

Dangerous. If you are ready to DIE, go to Dr. Schmidt. He is highly irresponsible and doesn't know his job at all. Dr. Schmidt is a really bad surgeon. This guy has no heart or care for his patients. Everything good you hear or read about him is not true, its just all a promotion. Be careful.

Dr. Schmidt was assigned to repair my mothers fractured hip. He was the rudest physician I ever met. She was in the hospital and hospital rehab and NEVER came to check on her or her progress. She was then released to an in patient rehab and unfortunately due to heart issues was taken back to the hospital. I saw Dr. Schmidt in the hallway where my mothers room was and asked him to see her and check on the healing of her fracture. I am still waiting and its 2.5 years ago! He sucks!
