Excellent surgeon and great outcome
Referred by my Optometrist Jeff Smith. Procedure (cataract surgery) was explained in detail and pre-op by Doctor Lee was reassuring. Final pre-op visit was with Doctor Stewart, very personable. The procedure went smoothly with no issues.

Excellent Experience with Dr. Stewart, Ophthalmolo
I wanted to express my gratitude for the incredible care I received from Dr. Stewart and his team during my recent cataract surgeries. Dr. Stewart's expertise and attention to detail were outstanding, and his team was incredibly helpful throughout the entire process. I also appreciated Dr. Stewart's skill in removing an old intraocular lens. If you're looking for exceptional eye care, I highly recommend Dr. Stewart. Thank you to Dr. Stewart and his wonderful team for their exceptional service.

I saw Dr. Stewart a few months ago regarding a cornea transplant. He came into the exam room late, rushed, no apology and didn't introduce himself. I asked him how he was and he said "tired, I need a nap." I told him I was hearing impaired and he didn't remove his mask to help me understand him better. His demeanor was that he was just going through the motions and didn't care whether I got the surgery or not. Aloof and unhelpful regarding chances for successful surgery. Did not inspire confidence.

First met Dr Stewart just before cataract surgery when he thrust a form at me to sign, asking if this was the distance I want to read at. During the cataract procedure he shared his experience of being propositioned by some man to go into a strip club. I am a senior aged female US Army veteran. This experience has really been emotional for me. I would never recommend him.

I have been treated by Dr. Stewart for a couple of years for high eye pressures and recently underwent cataract surgery. I have always found Dr. Stewart to be generous with his time, reviewing data in a careful manner, and explaining what he is seeing and what the options are. My surgery went well (I opted for a Panoptix lens) and my eyesight is amazingly good--no need for glasses at all now. The pre-op meeting and follow-ups were done by his associate, Dr Lee, and she was thorough, upbeat, enthusiastic. I notice from the ratings that people seem to either love Dr. Stewart or not. I think he is fantastic.

My brother needed to see a specialist after being in a motor vehicle accident and Dr. Stewart and his staff were amazing! He had traumatic injury to his optic nerve and we couldn’t figure out why his vision wasn’t improving in one eye. Dr. Stewart and his staff were amazing, they didn’t want to just rule out glaucoma so they made sure to have my brother take glaucoma drops to rule out any pathology. We came back three months later for a follow up and his vision and pressures were stable. Dr. Stewart then stated that there were no changes in his vision or pressure and so it was okay to take him off his drops. My brother only needs to come in annually now, thank you for putting my family and I at rest with this information. 10/10 would recommend. These doctors really do care !

Had some post-operative issues. Richard Stewart was combative, pompous and very difficult to get answers from. He continued to talk in medical terms we couldn't understand ,maybe to impress us with his wide array of knowledge, even when we asked him to explain in layman's terms. Perhaps he should work on his personality. I understand there can be issues with any surgery post-operative,but do yourself a favor and find another doctor, there are plenty much, much better than him.

Was offered post operative lazer “cleanup” as part of the pre-paid service and they billed me. Left with a decision to pay to make them go away or raise a formal medical fraud complaint..

The Dr. and Insight Vision Group did a good job with eye surgery but failed to correctly estimate or fully disclose all the out of pocket costs, which included many options for “better” surgery ins would not pay for, which was still over $1,000 out of pocket and was told that was all we had to pay.. Received a bill MANY MONTHS later for over $600 additional charge. We called Insight Vision Group in Longmont, CO and asked them what the over $600 was for, informed them detailed explanation why $600 owed, asked to get call, not send to collections without call. Insight NEVER called, sent reduce bill $350. Call yesterday from collection agency for over $600, last bill was$350. They said “WE WILL COLLECT THIS DEBT”. Beware you may get bill after you told had paid all was due AND THEY WILL NOT CALL YOU BACK WHEN CALL BACK WHEN PROMISED.

I waited in the exam room for almost an hour. Finally I came out and asked if the doctor was coming. The office staff said he was called to an emergency and they didn't know when he would be back. No apology. There were five other patients waiting after me and it was 4:45 pm. I gave up and went home. Never saw the doctor.

I had cataract replacement surgery in 2015 with Dr. Stewart. I chose replacement lenses with variable correction for distance and reading. After the surgery I needed a slight adjustment in my left eye to bring it up to 20-20, and Dr. Stewart made the correction with his state-of-the-art LASIK laser at no extra cost. I can't say enough about what a great eye surgeon Dr. Stewart is, and I wouldn't hesitate a second to recommend him to any family or friends.

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Stewart. I have a very complex opthamologic situation that includes severe myopia, glaucoma, cataracts, and a torn retina. Dr. Stewart's expertise is the reason I can now see 20/20 without glasses or contacts and only magnifying lenses to read. He is an excellent doctor who really listens and who has lots of experience. I would recommend him without reservation. He takes the time he needs to explain complex medical terms. I trust him implicitly!
