And if I could have given ZERO stars, I would. I had an appointment today [05/03/2023] at 0830 hours, arrived maybe 5 minutes late, only to wait in the waiting room for an entire HOUR and when I asked when would I be called next I was told by the front desk that "the doctor like to be thorough with his patients", which if translated means you will wait until THEY FEEL like seeing you. I want for all to keep in mind that this was my experience as A NEW PATIENT ... quite the welcome. I would NOT recommend this office to anyone, at all. What I would recommend is that all of the front desk team gets is re-trained in customer service, as they are clearly lacking in that area.

The problem was the unprofessional manner of Dr. Urbanek. He began by telling me that my insurance doesn’t cover removal of skin tags because Hillary Clinton doesn’t want it to. (this is in 2022.) When I objected to this ridiculous assertion, his manner became condescending and confrontational. I wanted to ask about a condition that affects older adults and I began by saying, “I am 72 years old,…” He immediately interrupted me with, “Well, I am 75 years old, so what’s your point?” I wanted some insight into the very real phenomenon called “old people smell.” His response was that many people are hallucinating smells because of Covid. When I objected to that, he said I should see a nose and throat doctor, not a dermatologist. Nothing he said to me was helpful. I asked about getting skin fungal infections from polluted seawater, and that’s not how you get it, it comes from sharing gym equipment and from dandruff. Rushed me the whole time, as though he had far more pressing things to do.

Dr Urbanek is the absolute best dermatologist in Ny area, his expertise & knowledge has been unrenounced , always accurate! Able to achieve a resolution without a doubt??

The doctor is brilliant, kind, honest, and meticulous in his surgical technique. He does not have great people skills, but I am willing to look past that because he is so good. The office has just changed management, rude receptionist is gone. A lot of new assistants hired. The place has been renovated. I highly recommend
