I expected a better experience.
When I called for an appointment with Gastroenterology at Atrium Health Wake, I was given an appointment with Dr. Rishi Pawa. Everything was fine in the beginning until different tests that he ordered narrowed my diagnosis down to a motility issue. After my last test I tried to reach out to him via patient portal and 3 different phone calls to his staff and received zero response. I initiated a call to patient relations at the end of an unsuccessful week of trying to speak with Dr Pawa, and they in turn reached out to him. Dr Pawa then sent a reply to me via the patient portal, basically telling me that he could not help me. What a waste of time and money!

I was referred to Dr. Pawa for further testing on an issue I was having. From the first time we met until i left the hospital, he was kind, reassuring and so very thorough. He calmed my nerves so much. I would recommend him for anyone dealing with digestive issues 10 out of 10. Fantastic doctor with such a calming bedside manner. Thank you so much Dr. Pawa!
