Great surgeon
Dr. Dewitt did a quadruple bypass on me and I received the best care possible. Dr Dewitt and his staff are very professional as he answered all of my questions at a level I understand. I’m very grateful for the level of care I received.

My AAA (abdominal aortic aneurysm was discovered in 2016, by a CT scan performed at a local hospital. The ER doctor, who was actually treating me was an unrelated abdominal pain I was experiencing at the time, said the AAA discovery was an incidental finding. He recommended I see Dr. Dewitt, for the purpose of periodically monitoring the size of the AAA, which was 3.2 cm in diameter at the time. Dr. Dewitt did just that, changing the frequency of those ultrasounds as applicable. In August 2020, a CT scan confirmed a 5.7 cm diameter, an increase from 4.8 cm in the previous 10-months. Dr. Dewitt recommended a stent be inserted via both groins. I praise the Lord Jesus Christ that the procedure was a complete and total success. Dr. Dewitt and his staff are so focused on providing great care to their patients; at least, that's what i experienced. I thank God for the skills, knowledge, experience, wisdom, insight, ... He provided to Dr. Dewitt and the medical team.

My dad had a stroke during routine surgery to remove a blockage in an artery in his neck. This is a man that had no history of cardiovascular problems whatsoever & was in perfect health prior to surgery. He is paralyzed down his right side & his speech is severely impaired. I sincerely believe this is due to neglegence on the part of Dr Dewitt. He should know exactly how long certain parts of the brain can handle being deprived of blood flow & adjust his surgical procedures accordingly. Hes supposed to be an EXPERT in this field. I wouldnt let him operate on my dog.

My father was mentally normal & coherent the night before Dr Dewitt performed surgery to remove a partially blocked artery in his neck. We were told there was an approximately 1 in 100 chance of him having a stroke during surgery. 8 hours post op we were told nothing in the data collected indicated a stroke but my father was showing obvious stroke symptoms. 24 hours post op we were told he definitely had a stroke & the symptoms appeared to be getting worse. It has been 36 hours at the time this review is being written & Im honestly afraid the father I have known my entire life may be lost forever due to a careless effort and/or lack thereof made by his surgical team on his behalf possibly during and probably after his procedure headed by Dr Dewitt. If this turns out not to be the case I will certainly follow up here with more & complete info as it becomes available.

Dr. Dewitt is one of the top surgeons in his area of expertise. He is straight and to the point and does not waste your time. I had aortic value replacement surgery in 2010. Except for the normal healing/pain, I have had no problems since. Before I had the procedure done, I could only work in the yard for 15 minutes and I was done for the day. After the surgery, I am back to when I was feeling before I started having problems. Great doctor!
