Dr. Robert Dornauer, DDS

I've had two extractions and an implant from Dr.Dornauer. All have been great experiences.Dr. Dornauer is a superb oral surgeon. He explains procedures well, and he is very attuned to the patient's comfort and level of pain. I was awake during my extraction today. After receiving the Novocaine, it took only five minutes! His staff were very helpful in getting me a quick appointment through a cancellation. I recommend this practice very, very highly.

Dr. Dornauer should remove the Dr. in front of his name. He is horrible to patients and money hungry. His office is a museum to his many travels and his horrible photography. Even the office tv is about his travels. I saw him in action more than once. He should not be treating people. Especially special needs people.

I was referred to the Fremont office for an extraction and the lady answering the phone was extremely unhelpful and condescending. She didn't listen that I am in pain and wanted to schedule me a month and half out because they're so busy. I kindly thank her for her time and said I would look for other options because I'm in pain and can't wait that long. She replies, "Well good luck with that because everyone is busy now." I called another oral surgeon and they have me in next week. Maybe the doctor and other staff are good but the woman answering the phone was awful.

Appointment to surgically remove 4 wisdom teeth and surgically erupt a slow moving molar. Only in network with 1 dental plan and neither of mine were it. $4400 and 6 months later, the surgically erupted molar is DEAD and I had to spend more $$ to consult with an Endodontist and then even more $$ to another oral surgeon (different surgeon) to have the tooth extracted. According to the Endodontist and new Oral Surgeon, the tooth should have been pulled from the beginning due to space issues (my daughter's mouth is very small) there was 100% NO DECAY on the tooth, and I was told the tooth most likely died due to "trauma" from the surgery. I am furious. Also, when you walk in the office you're hit from every angle, in every room with Dr's professionally framed "amateur photography" hobby on the walls and dvd reels on the waiting room TV from all his worldly travels playing nonstop- obviously my $4400 will be well spent on Dr's world travels.

I went to Dr. Dornauer for a problem with my pallet than the prior 3 doctors could not explain or offer any guidance on. His office staff was the height of polite and friendly. Everything about the visit made me feel comfortable and he steered me away from doing a painful and costly procedure for no reason. I would definitely recommend his practice for any friends or family.

Let me preface, difficulty scheduling was due to COVID-19. Unpleasant, painful and rushed dental visits have left me with anxiety. My initial exam revealed Dr Dornauer to be knowledgeable and professional. The day of my procedure the staff, from the front end, to the techs, to the assistants and Dr Dornauer were pleasant, caring and comforting. If a dental procedure could be described as great....this would be it. Personally, gratefully, I've no complaints and cannot say enough of the appreciation I have for Dr. Dornauer. With no hesitation I will refer my family and friends to him.

The front staff are RUDE beyond comprehension.

Dr. Dornauer and his staff (Monica) get a 10 +..from me. I wish all Dr.s and staff were able to show how much they really care.... as this office did.

The lady behind the counter is not very personable and seems to just want your money immediately. Barely says, hello before mentioning they haven't heard from your insurance company yet. The assistants are friendly though. Doctor kept repeating the same, mono-tonic sentence each time that I asked a question.
