Excellent
I saw Dr. Griffin for a herniated disc: imaging, diagnosis, treatment plan, steroid epidural. I think he's one of the best doctors I've visited in NYC. Extremely smart, caring, responsive in patient portal. I've recommended at least 2 friends to him for back issues. High recommend, he puts you at ease with his extreme knowledge and capability.

I am a new person!
Telehealth
I have been dealing with bulging discs for over 5 years, and seen several doctors with disappointing results. After having my procedure done with Dr. Griffin, I feel like a new person. I have full range ofMotion in my right leg and no long have sharp debilitating pain in my lower back. Dr. Griffin and his staff are extremely professional and friendly and put me at ease. Most wonderful doctor
I had severe pain. Dr Griffin quickly reacted and reached out to an HHS surgeon. I had an operation the same day. I actually do not know what might have happened if I did not have a doctor as perceptive as Dr Griffin.

Beware
First, my appointment time was changed without my knowledge. I only realized it when I looked at the HSS app. that morning. Due to traffic and parking garage closures and road closures, I was delayed by about 5- 10 minutes. I did call to let them know.Upon my arrival, there were the usual initial check-in procedures and the medical history review which took about 15 minutes. When the Dr. walked in the only' greeting' that I received was, You have 10 minutes, why are you here? Needless to say, I was appalled. No NYC doctor has ever been so rude and disrespectful.Dr. Griffin has impressive credentials but lacks diplomacy, empathy, respect and kindness. There are too may other physicians from which to choose. I will never return to him again.

Great Adademics, Zero Empathy
I have found him to be just short of rude on too many occasions and more interested in taking care of his personal commitments than his patients. Excellent academics do not compensate for poor patient skills and an overall lack of empathy.

Patient, understanding, and really skilled at what he does. His office staff made it easy to get an appointment convenient to me. Dr. Griffin listened carefully to everything I said and then explained to me what he thought I had and my options. He was very knowledgeable and could explain to me the pros and cons of my options. I had an epidural steroid injection that has virtually cured my back pain. I'd recommend him to my own family members and anyone!

After waiting 45 minutes in the exam room for him to show up, he seemed more annoyed to see me laying down on the exam table than apologetic for the wait time. I recently had a 5- hour back surgery so sitting for 45 minutes is very painful. I explained that the surgery has not alleviated my sciatic pain, but he had no advise to give me. He offered nothing except for an epidural shot even after I explained I had 2 epidurals and one nerve root shot in the past year and none worked. Horrible doc!
