Don’t Waste Your Time
I have never come across such an arrogant doctor like Dr. Robert W. Jyung. He dismisses everything you say and does not care to listen. He talks over you, and throws you around like a ball to other specialists. He is absolutely terrible and I wasted my time with a doctor like him. It’s a shame.

My Surgical Experience
Words can’t describe how grateful I am to have had Dr. Jyung as my ENT surgeon! He does a wonderful job of walking his patients through this stressful journey. He is very personable, knowledgeable, and will take the time to answer any of your questions/concerns, which made me feel very comfortable! It has been 2 months since my tumor was removed and I’m feeling so much better and looking forward to a full recovery within the next couple of months.

I wish I could rate the physician and his staff separately, however, they are part of the same package. I work in a hospital, and during the pandemic I had a health issue that arose that I sought care for. I was given Dr. Jyung's name by the head of ENT at my hospital. With this high recommendation, I thought the service and care I would receive would reflect that. It did not. Long wait times for appointments, poor communication from staff, multiple billing errors. After having to be sent for multiple tests, I had billing errors with every single one that I had to fix since the office was unwilling or inefficient in doing so. Not only that, I was sent for a test at a facility that did not take my insurance, ironically also at University Hospital where the doctor practices. Why are they sending patients to facilities that do not accept their insurance? It sounds to me like University hospital needs extra fees to bill and this is more important to them than the care of their patients.

Dr. Jyung makes the character in the TV show House look like he has great bedside manner. Being a skilled surgeon doesn't justify the way he treats people- uncaring and arrogant. As someone in the medical field, I can honestly say that Dr. Jyung is likely the most extreme case of hubris that I've ever encountered. I gave him 2 stars because he is gifted with his skill, but his unwillingness to consider his patients are human being who matter is beyond subpar. I pray that if he ever gets sick that he finds someone better who has with compassion and empathy.

Dr. Robert Jyung, is polite, humble, learned and capable Ear, Nose & Throat Specialist, you could only dream or wish about. Dr. Robert Jyung is the epitome of ENT Surgeon. The individuals Jane Doe / Montclair / Ann Jersey City have shared experience, please forgive them and ignore. I had a massive ear drum perforation for about 40 years. I did not trust anyone, Dr. Jyung understood my fear, he went over the entire diagnosis with extreme transparency, patience and explained it scientifically. I trusted every word he said. I agreed to surgery right there, went through it, and nothing could have been better than what he performed. I am 100% healthy, satisfied, elated. I will sing his praises to one and all. He is a man of faith, humble, respectful and rightfully revered in this field. His staff is hardworking, please realize, this is a university hospital, there are limitations, he is doing a sacred work, not medical, a truly gifted professional. If you have to wait, worth it.

I would recommend any friend or family member who has an ear, nose or throat issue to Dr. Jyung. He is extremely competent, friendly, straight forward and professional. Dr. Jyung saved my life. After few years of periodic maneuvers to balance crystals in my inner ear go, Dr Jyung suggested that we do an MRA to make sure that there is nothing else causing my bouts pf vertigo. The MRA revealed an unruptured brain aneurysm. I had emergency brain surgery. I am alive because of his foresight.

I'm shocked by the negative reviews of Dr. Jyung and his staff. My experience was nothing but fantastic. I do agree that the wait time is excessive. But given that Rutgers is a teaching hospital, and Dr. Jyung is the head of the department, it's no surprise his time is limited. I saw Dr. Jyung for a cholesteatoma back in 2015. I think anyone looking at the back of my ear would have a difficult time telling that I had an operation.

Dr Jyung is an amazing Dr. He has a great bedside manner, is very informative and thorough. My 14 year old son went to see him because he needs surgery relating to his ear. Besides explaining everything clearly to me, he also took the time to make sure my son understood and answered any questions we had- I would highly recommend him.

The doctor is wonderful, however I am very, very disappointed with the staff scheduling his appointment at University Hospital. I was given an appointment last month. I arrived before time, signed in and was told to have a seat. After almost 2 hrs of waiting, staff told me they had given me app by mistake. I'm here again today for 10:45 app. Now they are telling me they changed the time to 12 noon. I showed them them paper I received with app time and they dont even care!!!!

Dr. Jyung is a great doctor, he's a perfectionist that takes his time to make sure you get the best result. I had sudden hearing loss in one of my ears. I went to a different doctor first, but he scared me off, he seemed operation happy, after coming to a conclusion after speaking to me for about 5 mins. Dr. Jyung was mcuh more cautious about it. He had me get an MRI and really considered all my options. I ended up getting surgery and couldn't be happier with the results.

A completely rotten human being. One of the worst doctors I have ever been to. Rude, cuts you off when you're talking, doesn't listen, not compassionate or kind. Also completely wrong about my diagnosis. Kept waiting a half hour for an early morning appointment. Staff was also sullen and rude. Avoid at all costs.

Dr. Jyung is an excellent doctor. Had surgery with him twice, was left with hoarseness after. His staff leaves a lot to be desired, I wont say all because there are some that are absolutely awesome. His billing department is not the most pleasant one, if you call about a billing concern Sandra just discards completely what you are speaking about and does not even try to find a remediation to your issue. Its a shame that great doctors like Dr Jyung are not paired with better staff.
