He did and emergency laparotomy on my husbands leaky bowel. No time to fast or Java clean bowel!!! Dr Kistner just happened to be on call and we were very thankful for that. He is a no nonsense guy no hand holding just a great technician! My husband was very lucky to have such a skilled surgeon. No complications no cholestomy unbelievable I would not hesitate to use him again

Kistner is a member of a of a group practice in Bullhead City AZ. I was referred by my PCP for a colonoscopy and removal of lipomas. After never making eye contact , spending less than one minute with me I was informed he would not remove the tumors and to schedule with the front desk for the colonoscopy ...At the front desk I ask to be referred to another surgeon and was instructed to call the office in a week ... Doing that I was told no one in the group practice , New Horizon Surgical Services would see me . Having been through 3 different primary cancers and 11 surgeries I have never been more disrespected in such an unprofessional manner by anyone , ever.

He is a straight shooter. When it comes to health, I don't need a lot of fluff, I need someone who knows. Dr. Kistner saved my life four years ago. That makes him #1 in my book.

my daughter came to er with severe abdominal pain. the medical doctor wasn't sure maybe appendicitis dr kistner was consulted. he review daughters situation and asked for gyn doc. gyn emphatically stated this wasn't female related. dr kistner examined her and recommended urgent surgery for female issues despite what gyn said. she had emergent laparoscopic surgery which found female issues as he predicted. thank god he saw her because i think we might still be in hospital today trying to figure it all out. beyond that, he actually spent time explaining how this could affect her health in the future and those difficult discussions that must be had with teenage adults. i gave him a hug and thanked him for his concern for my daughters welfare at her office visit. he seems to genuinely care.

went to er for excruciating pain. after 8 hrs in er. the er calls surgeon on call, dr. kistner. upon his arrival he asked several questions examined my abdomen and had me in er within 40minutes. it was about 200am. none of the other staff seemed particularly concerned, but he was! he diagnosed my perforated ulcer before er told me results of X-rays as i was leaving for operating room. surgery went well. post visit without a hitch. thanks to dr kistner for his knowledge and concern. i think i might still be in er if they hadn't called him.

Daughter had gallbladder surgury and listener never even came to the waiting room to update or let me her mother know how she did in surgury. He was a no show and I met him the next day at 2:30pm finally and he didn’t even introduce himself. I asked how my daughters surgery went and he said obviously you can see. He’s a sarcastic rude and unprofessional I hope he did a better job on her surg. Good god!!

Dr Kistner provides inadequate care and communication to patients. Care instruction, what to expect, prognosis after surgery not provided or a concern. His explanations before and after surgery were vague. Office staff (Lilly) is rude , my attempt to arrange for post op care info from kistner were argued and stymied, she blamed the lack of it on the nurse at the hospital and my wife. Request for a call from Kistner were refused, upon insistence ignored. I agree, what a Joke. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE

I was hospitalized for a week. Met with Kistner several times trying to decide if I needed surgery. He was extremely inadequate in explanations as to what was happening and how they were going to proceed. My PCP gave me all of the information I needed and answered my questions directly. In addition, I have PPO insurance that Dr. Kistner works with and accepts their cost for payment. I continue to receive a bill for the portion the insurance did not cover. What a Joke - UNPROFESSIONAL

Does not keep his patients informed with their cases. Each time I saw him he talked TO me ( not allowing me to talk) for a MAXIMUM of 4 minutes. I will never see Dr.(I will never bestow such a title to such a person) Kiistner again and I would recommend you steer clear from any enrollment with him.
