Expert in his profession
I have been seeing Dr. Lipson since Feb 0f 2019. Stage 4 radical prostate cancer. He performed a radical prosectomy. Through his treatment, I've been cancer free since it's 2025 now. Can't thank him enough. 5 star and more.

Dr. Robert S. Lipson is rude and unhelpful
Dr. Robert S. Lipson is rude and unhelpful. Don't be surprised if he responds to your questions with insults and belittling. Given my own medical background, I have interacted with many medical doctors, and few are as bad as Dr. Robert S. Lipson.

Highly recommended
I've been a patient of Dr Lipson since 2016 when I discovered I had prostate cancer. Not the greatest news ever, but from that time, I have nothing but praise for all he has done for me. At this time I see him every 4 mos and through the years never have I left complaining about his knowledge, caring, advice of options, or anything for that matter.

Patient
Wish I could give this guy six stars. Smart, professional, patient, and a clear communicator. At the same time he doesn’t waste time… his or mine. I’m in the hospital recovering from a procedure as I write this. Dr Lipson represents all that is good with medicine. Please tell him thank you.

On the day of my last visit/exam, the front desk seemed to be overwhelmed. It was 5 deep just to check in, and had to wait 45 minutes just to be seen. In the past, I was always seen within 5-10 minutes to be seen. As always, Dr. Lipson is Fantastic and he even apologized for the long wait. Next exam, I think I will try his other office.

While Dr Lipson seems to be a very intelligent and knowledgeable urologist he has a bit of a chilly bed side manner. My diagnosis of low grade prostate cancer was explained to me in the order of worst case to best case - kind of the opposite of what someone just smashed in the face with the big C diagnosis should hear. Rather than easing me into the news and keeping my nerves at bay I was sent spinning right off the bat, making it difficult to comprehend anything after that point. I have since searched second and third opinions and have changed doctors. Again, he seems to be knowledgeable in his profession but I need someone with some degree of compassion to have in my corner on this journey.

Lipson implanted a Calypso beacon into my prostate. This is so the radiation beam can be more precise target the prostate. I asked the nurses who were preping me "how many times had this Dr performed this procedure". They said "Oh many times, many times" without telling me how many. I asked the Dr as he came in and he said “3” times!! I should have walked out right then!! I started bleeding hrs later, passed out and came to and was transported to emergency room. I’m lucky to be alive.
