Dr. Marema performed my Roux-en-Y gastric surgery on Aug. 2, 2002 at Celebration Hospitalin Celebration, FL. I was in the hospital for a week afterward and I lost 30 pounds in that first week. Almost 17 years later, and my most recent A1c was 5.3, and at my most recent weigh in, I was at about 195...from my pre-surgery weight of around 335 pounds! Dr. M literally saved my

UI actually had my surgery in Ft. Lauderdale in November 1999! I would not be here today, typing, had I not had surgery with Dr. Marema. I'm guessing I might be one of his earlier patients and when people ask me the side effects of RNY gastric bypass, my response is Longevity! I highly recommend Dr. Marema. He is a skilled, extremely knowledgable physician with tremendous compassion.
