Dr. Ruben is an excellent doctor
Telehealth
Dr. Ruben was very specific and detailed in his questions and answers during his diagnosis of my condition. He was very clear in his answers to my many questions and made both recommended and optional suggestions. He was very helpful and I found his manner to be exactly what I need in a doctor: direct, specific, and responsive. Dr. Ruben is an excellent doctor and I would use him again in the future!

Does Do Communicate or listen
Dr Ruben does not explain whats happening and why he is recommending course of action. Does not listen. When I had a problem, could not get in touch with him. He did not give me instructions or cautions about a treatment which caused problems.

Excellent- I have been a patient of Dr. Ruben since my first colonoscopy sometime in the late 80s/early 90s. He was very fast, which surprised me at first. However, I soon learned you simply have to take the initiative to speak up and say "I have more questions" and you immediately have his attention. He is a master of his specialty. I have Lynch Syndrome, so have a history of producing polyps which can often become malignant. He and the practice keep track of this and require appropriate other tests on a regular basis. I would recommend him to anybody who wants excellence. His team during the procedures have commented on his "demands of excellence AND speed", but he is definitely respected by them.

Horrible practice, avoid at all costs. This practice does nothing to help their patients, and in fact just ignores them. Waiting over a week for “emergency” test results, when they are there for the doctor to review, is completely unacceptable. There are far better practices out there.

My wife was a patient at Portsmouth hospital with severe stomach pain she had to have a colonoscopy but her regular doc was unavailable. in comes dr rubin while being taken in for the procedure he assured her she wouldn't feel a thing. He failed to tell her that she wouldn't be out during the colonoscopy and endoscopy.my wife suffers from ptsd due to severe childhood trauma. This was very traumatic and unnecessary to preform this procedure in this manner. Aguick look at her medical chart would have prevented this. Not very satisfied with Dr Rubin very unprofessional and inconsiderate of my situation.

No medical professional can possibly accurately assess never mind diagnose a patient in 4 minutes. That is all you’ll get with him. He is impatient, abrupt and dismissive.

Excellent physician who isn't into a ton of small talk, he helps patients by doing his work not listening to their stories. I have found him professional and very competent. If you're looking for a friend get a dog, if you want professional treatment see Dr. Ruben

I have had severe Gastro issues for the past 18 years,,, and Dr Ruben was the 1st Gastroenterologist I saw when I first moved to NH. Not only is he rude, but he doesn't know how to keep track of his records. I practically begged him for help and he turned to me and stated quote : " Get over it, Take Miralax in the evening and Loperamide in the morning" ,, Geez ,,, No quality here and completely condescending to his patients!

Inconsiderate, extremely poor listening skills, asks for information (such as th name of your surgeon) then doesn't keep track of (or refer to) your responses, because he asks for the same information again (AND then his assistant phoned saying he needs to know the surgeon's name). All but boasted that he's good at speaking very quickly to cover a lot of information, and spent only 6 minutes with me at first appointment. A Dr's listening skill is important, and he woefully lacks that.

Dr. Ruben was my doctor for almost 3 years. I missed 2-3 appointments, all of which I called to cancel in advance. I was fired by Dr. Ruben. I called multiple times to apologize and I spoke with numerous people, yet Dr. Ruben would not take me back. Despite his expertise as a doctor, be very cautious about him. I my opinion, you develop a trusted relationship with your doctor, as I did. Yet - he cast me aside for no apparent reason. Very disappointing...

Dr. Ruben is #1 in my book. Have had wonderful experiences with him. Too bad his staff, beginning with the receptionist lack good customer service skills. If I had to evaluate the practice as a whole I would give one star Dr. Rubin is a definite 5 star.

I feel that Dr. Ruben is highly knowledgable but lacks the basic manner that I so desperately need. He is curt and, in my opinion, fails to convey a sensitivity to the patient' s concerns. I switched to another provider.

I asked if Dr. Ruben could call me to explain what he saw from an impedance test. He called and sounded angry and condescendingly told me that he didn't have time to explain the test and how it works (he was clearly upset I made him call). This is frustrating considering I've spent $1,000s with his practice. He was dismissive and was eager to get off the phone. I literally asked him is everything okay because he sounded angry. Good doc? Not sure. A jerk? Yes.

I was terrified of the Procedures Dr. Ruben was about to do and he took the time to explain and cram me down, was very picante with me and nice, I was a total wimp and that is not me, so for him not to treat we like I was acting I appreciated that ( a lot ) As a women we go though so much, a mammogram ( someone pulling on your breast ) a pep ( putting u in that position ) and now this !! Thank you Dr. Ruben for giving me respect and letting me keep my dignity. Would highly recommend !
