Not Trans friendly!
Do not use him if you are trans FtM!! Started seeing him for diabetes, then came out to family and started hormone therapy with Dr. Silver. Told me there was only three ways to get testosterone (gel, patches and monthly shot) and I couldn’t do use 2 out of 3. When he asked me what I wanted to do I told him about the weekly shots that a trans friend suggested to me he got angry at me saying it didn’t exist. After taking me off the gel for not having a current therapist he strung me along for over 2 years saying I needed blood tests to start it again then canceling our appointment days before to push it out for months then saying the tests I did were no longer valid so I’d need more blood tests before he do anything. I had to go to Darthmich Hitchcock in Lebanon to start being treated like a human being. I’ve now fully transitioned, taking those weekly shots he says don’t exist and am very happy with my results.

Dr. Silver is kind and thoughtful when dealing with me as a patient. Needless to say he is a well-qualified specialist and is very good at explaining things and advising the best treatments for his patients.

Got switched to Dr. Silver after another doc in the practice left. 1st appt was ok, 2nd appt was very disappointing. Despite calling ahead of time to advise them that labwork should have been sent (went for labs 10days prior to the appt to an external lab), staff didn't take the initiative to locate the results and he didn't have them at the time of the appt. Then it took a full month with 2 phone calls and a secure email thru the online portal before he finally called. And my labs were not normal, there were issues that need to be addressed - which he has passed the buck to another specialty. How can a doc's practice not follow-up in a timely fashion about labs that show a health issue? Especially if all he was going to do was tell me to make an appt with a diff doc! Not sure I'll go back to him.

I had to give up my long term dr. due to my insurance and she recommended Dr. Silver. Unfortunately he turned out to be a horrible fit. I tried asking him questions regarding health concerns and he shot me down like I was trying to be combative when I was just asking simple questions like if coming down with a lot of colds could be thyroid related. He got so combative he told me maybe I needed to see another doctor. The office never calls back & I keep having to chase for test results.

After waiting on hold for an eternity finally got to speak to someone about cancelling an appointment. When we explained that we're out of state due to death in the family and have to reschedule...she told us he's booking out in JANUARY!! It is the beginning of JUNE!?? I'm not new patient! I mentioned to the receptionist maybe I need to find another diabetic doctor...her response "Let me know where to send your records"! ??
