Dr Robert Urrea is amazing however his staff, front desk, pre Auth department is horrible and uncaring. I had major cervical surgery on 4.22.24, due to the intensive recovery I'm needing a bone stimulator. I have great insurance, the ladies in charge of taking care of this matter at the office have not taken care if this matter. They mailed out a letter which BCBS never received. I have tirelessly told the office staff to call the insurance instead and directly fax information and they have not done so. It's been 7 weeks post op.

Dr. Urrea is an excellent surgeon and I would highly recommend him. He and his staff identified my need for neck surgery and I will be forever grateful for the surgery. I also received back injections which have relieved me of pain.

I want to share my experience of my surgery with Dr. Urrea, I had my surgery last year on June 21&22, 2022. I had a herniated disk and 90% blockage on my spinal cord. My legs became weak and I started to fall without warning. The surgery was a success and I no longer have to use a walker to get around. I am very grateful to Dr. Urrea because my life is back to normal. I would highly recommend Dr. Urrea because not only did he do my surgery, he did my brother’s as well. Mr. Calderon is very knowledgeable and patient when he explains the procedures, I’m very happy with the results.

Dr Robert Urrea - Orthopedic
Dr Urrea took very good care of me with my back pain. He performed surgery and he explained everything in a way i would understand procedure before and after surgery. Recently I injured my hand and I called him for his advice as to whom to go see. I would trust no one else for this advice but him. He is professional, courteous and great bedside manner. Mr Calderon is equally as professional and helpful as Dr Urrea. All office staff efficient and courteous and the facility is first class. I trust no one else for my care.

Dr Robert Urrea has performed both back and neck surgery on me. He operated on my back some years back. The operation was a miracle and eliminated all my pain. Then on 11/13/2021 Dr Urrea operated on my neck. Both the back and neck in simple terms were to remove damaged disks put in "Cages" then put in plates and screws to hold everything. I had absolutely no pain or even any discomfort for the neck surgery. i have recommended Dr Urrea to an Alaska friend she talked to Dr Urrea flew to El Paso and he has done both back and neck surgery on her. She has thanked me for that recommendation and is enjoying life pain free.If you are looking for a Dr that will listen to you care about you and spend time with you Then Dr Robert Urrea is the Surgeon to select.

BEWARE. Dr. Surreal is one of the most arrogant and rude individuals I've come across. Horrible bedside manner. Staff just as rude and incompetent. Appointment scheduling miserable; no consideration for peoples time even if in pain you can expect to wait a very long time. Billing department disorganized and a mess. No customer service whatsoever. Half the time no answer. Probably only kind of people that would work for somebody like him. There are many good surgeons out there, stay away from him if you expect any kind of competence or compassion..

My mother was "treated" by Dr Urrea and he didn't even listen to her concerns. She has been in so much pain and was hoping he could alleviate it. He takes the easy way out and has a "one size fits all" type of approach to his patients. I am never letting my mom go back to him ever again.

I would leave zero stars for Dr Urrea. My mom was a long time patient of urreas because of her condition he diagnosed. My mom had to change her insurance because she’s on a fixed income and wasn’t able to receive medical care from dr urrea anymore because he doesn’t take her insurance. Fine. The biggest problem after the fact that my mom now has to see a new doctor because of Severe cervical spinal stenosis is dealing with is his very rude, incompetent, disrespectful, no compassion at all staff. We asked them for her records for months and months and no they wouldn’t return her calls, give her the run around. finally finally! They gave us a file but no mri cd which she had asked for many many times so her new doctor could see which they required to see. Nope! Her daughter had to call and talk to a lady named Cindy who ended up hanging up on her because she was arguing about the information needed for my mom to take to her new doctor. worst experience ever with a doctor’s staff

He is rude. Doesn’t want to hear your concerns , asks what your pain level is and offers meds to you. That’s about the extent of the visit. Long wait times and staff will not call you for your next appointment half of the time. You always have billing problems from your visits. Missed approved shots because staff didn’t let me know. I do not recommend him at all. You will be disappointed guaranteed but ultimately you have to decide for yourself. I would rather see a Dr in China instead. Lastly i have argued with him and his staff on numerous occasions. Some family members were patients and they too left to see another Dr. I am so disappointed and disgusted with their office and him.

I am a RN & was first diagnosed by Dr. Urrea in 2008 with a herniated disc; years later Crossfit aggravated my condition and I developed another herniation. Spinal injections only temporarily helped my pain so I went ahead with surgery in May of 2018. My pain is almost completely gone & I no longer have the pain I once did; I have frequently referred him to friends. Dr. Urrea operated on my father, mother & myself all with positive outcomes that saved us. I would not recommend anyone higher.

Dr. Urrea has performed four separate surgeries involving my cervical and lumbar spine over the past four years. My spine was in pretty bad shape in multiple areas and the pain had prevented me from living the lifestyle I enjoy. The results of all surgeries have been very good and I have been able to return to playing golf, riding my motorcycle and other physical activities with no pain after four months. His staff has been professional, courteous and helpful. Obviously I am very satisfied.

Dr. R. Urrea is an incredibly gifted doctor. I suffered from debilitating neck pain and spasms for years. He replaced several discs and constructed a titanium "cage" in my neck in which three vertebrae were able to grow back. It took about a year to totally recover, but it was worth it! The reason the recovery took so long is that I did not have it done until I was 67 years old. If you need neck surgery, he is the person to see! I am over 70 years old now and have had no resulting problems

Dr. Urea and his staff are rude and inconsiderate people. The Doctor needs to go back to school and take some people skills classes. He will not give you the time of day and you always have to talk to the PA instead. He had no patience to talk with my Grandmother. I would not recommend this doctor to anyone!

My mom has suffered long enough and the experience at this office has been nothing but a bigger headache and hardship. The reviews are dead on please beware staff is incredibly inconsiderate, uneducated, and careless about anyone. I would only hope staff doesn't have to go through this kind of treatment with their loved ones, maybe just maybe they would understand. Doctor Urrea you can thank your staff for the desire to look elsewhere. I can't specify enough how much reviews are right!
