The right doctor for me !
I knew I was in the right hands with my first contact ! Dr. Wright reviewed my case and prioritized my appointment and care based on the severity of my symptoms . Meeting with Dr. Wright gave me the confidence to put my trust in him as he navigated and monitored my treatment; follow up care; and finally dismissal. His communication style helped me understand the treatment plan, and I always received respectful, sincere, and knowledgeable responses to my questions . The office staff always attended to my needs and appointments as if I was their only patient . I traveled a distance to see Dr. Wright, and would have gladly traveled twice the distance if needed. I am grateful everyday it was Dr. Wright who provided my care!!

Thorough and Professional
From start to finish Dr Wright was caring and determined to get to the cause of the dire health conditions my wife was going through. She is well on her way now to a full recovery now and we credit Dr Wright, Cottage Hospital, and the team of Doctors he collaborated with.

Grateful
I had Lung Cancer and went to Mayo’s in Az. to have a lung cancer operation. I came home to SB and started feeling sick 7-10 days after. I had a CT scan ordered by Dr. Kupperman and was immediately sent to Cottage ER.. Dr. Wright stepped in sent me to ICU coordinated an operation performed by Dr. Baay to keep me alive and breathing. Dr Wright brought in an infectious disease Dr. found I had necro-fungal pneumonia(a super bug) and I was in Cottage for the month of December 2018 on super Antifungal medication. I continued the Medication for several months under Dr. Wrights supervision and care. Without Dr. Wrights due Diligence and Medical Expertise I would not be writing this. Dr. Wright is still my Dr. and continues to follow up with me!

Life Saver!
Dr. Wright saved my husband's life. We had watched in horror his chronic respiratory symptoms slowly progress over several months, from mild, to moderate, to severe, while doctors from various specialties could not find anything wrong with him. Not even after 3 hospitalizations with septic pneumonia when he almost died, doctors would believe there was anything wrong with him. My husband's health was declining, and we felt helpless. We finally found Dr. Wright who took the symptoms seriously and did not rest until he found the real diagnosis: a rare and deeply ingrained lung infection which is almost always 100% fatal. Still, Dr. Wright treated it very aggressively with an extensive course of multiple antibiotics and now, two years later, my husband is cured. Dr. Wright saved my husband's life. His knowledge, experience, persistence in looking for the correct diagnosis, and diligence in the treatment approach save lives. We could not be more thankful or recommend him highly enough.

BEST OF THE FIVE STARS
At eighty-seven, have a fair share of health issues, am attended to by a terrific primary physician and several good specialists. Have looked to Dr. Wright for pulmonary concerns for several years. His breadth of experience, depth of knowledge, empathy and communicative skills are impressive and important. For me, he is the best physician in Santa Barbara.

Excellent Pulmonologist
Dr. Wright is known and regarded as the finest pulmonologist/urgent care physician in Santa Barbara. I can verify, based on years of experience with Dr. Wright, his outstanding reputation is justified. In every instance, he has listened carefully, arrived at the correct diagnosis, and provided the necessary care and treatment for a successful outcome. On one occasion, based on a 30 second phone call, he took immediate action to address a serious condition, and he saved my life. He is committed to the well-being of any person under his care, and he spends the time and energy necessary to ensure a good result. As I once heard a well-known physician remark, "Rob Wright is a doctor's doctor." I unequivocally recommend Dr. Wright to anyone seeking the best medical care available.

Unmatched care and expertise
As a patient of Dr Wright for over 20 years I can attest to his remarkable skill and dedication both to patient and his profession. I would be long dead from two different ailments but for his focussed engagement and follow-through: major blood clotting in my pulmonary artery and a pancreatic cyst. I'm still alive and well, thanks to the good doctor. He's the best, and also a straight shooter. He doesn't beat around the bush in conversation regarding one's predicament. He pursues new information and latest medical research. I have complete confidence in him and both my wife and I feel fortunate to be in his care.

I am 84 years old, and in the course of my life have been under the care of many physicians. Dr. Wright has been my primary care provider for the last 15 years, and without a doubt, has provided me the best overall care. He is clearly knowledgeable and experienced, and he has guided me to other excellent physicians when I have needed specialized help outside of his expertise. He is a caring and compassionate man, who is always accessible and who follows through beyond expectation. I feel truly blessed to be a patient of his.

Dr Wright has not only given me excellent medical care, but has always treated me with respect and kindness. I had never realized how vulnerable a patient can feel until I was faced with my first major health problem at age 66. His steadfast direction for my care, as well as his optimism and genuine caring nature, has helped me tremendously in navigating my pulmonary issues. I know that he not only has my best interests at heart, but will go the extra mile to see I get the care I need. I am eternally grateful that he is my pulmonologist!

My Mom had been suffering with fluid in her lungs. We could not get in to a Pulmonologist in our area. I happened to look up Drs in the SB area, and found Dr Wright. He has went above and beyond to help my Mom. She is finally on the mend! Thanks to Dr Wright and his staff. He has shown us he cares about his patients, and their well-being.

I have been a patient of Dr. Wright's for several years. I travel from Thousand Oaks to SB to see him given I am confident and safe within his care. I was dx with a rare, woman's only disease (www.thelamfoundation.org) in 2003. He helped keep me stable until I was no longer stable due to progression, then he went to bat for me and got me evaluated for a successful bilateral lung transplant at UCLA. In a nutshell, not only is he a brilliant medicine man, but he is compassionate and has excellent bedside manner. He calms me when I become anxious, will return a call/text/email off hours and has always given me the confidence to live my best life under the circumstances of the moment. He will remain my primary care / pulmonologist. The UCLA transplant team agrees he's the best in his class of care for me. I wholeheartedly recommend him to my fellow lung disease patients. I promise you won't be disappointed and, I should mention, his staff are terrific, kind, and very patient.

In early 2019 I had serious breathing & coughing symptoms which appeared out of nowhere. Went to numerous local MD's including another pulmonologist who could not provide me with a definitive diagnosis. After a friend recommended Dr. Wright I made an appointment. Dr. Wright made the accurate diagnosis of eosinophilic asthma, and has been treating me accordingly. I now feel great compared to before I went to him and I'm off steroids and all of the ill side effects. I highly recommend Dr. Wright to anyone with pulmonary issues!

I have had asthma forever. I should admit I am 33, an RN, & naturally, a terrible patient. In September 2019, I went into severe respiratory distress and was almost intubated in Ventura. I was discharged from the hospital, on room air, but I still was really struggling. Enter Dr. Wright. It was a long 6 months. There were times I called and appeared in his office in tears, told him I was giving up. He would tell me to keep going. I have been steroid free for 3 months. My asthma is extremely controlled with only 3 meds. Without his caring spirit, my boys would not have a mom. I would not get to be a nurse. His office staff is wonderful. Veronica M, his NP, is outstanding. She would call me right after scans to give me results, and would call me in the week to check in. His office staff, his medical assistants (Mayra and Angel and others) made me laugh every day. They were beyond kind. There is no Dr. or office I could recommend more. Thank you for saving my life.

Dr. Wright is exceptional. I would recommend him first in a community of excellent specialists for examination and treatment of pulmonary diseases. Dr. Wright was referred to me by my primary care physician in December 2019 after a CT scan revealed a tumor causing obstructive pneumonia, located in an area making treatment difficult. He saw me the next day, and immediately started investigation and further testing and scans that he used to diagnose the rare condition afflicting me, and referred me to specialists at UCLA who performed successful surgery. Throughout the process, Dr. Wright was direct, informative and careful to make sure I understood my condition and his recommendations. He was available whenever I needed him. His continuing care and concern for me has resulted in healthy lungs after the course of treatment Dr. Wright recommended. He is excellent. April 11, 2020
