Late arrival
I had an appointment for my first appointment with Dr. Barrett. I filled out all of the paperwork beforehand and did the preregistration online. I got to the parking lot about 5 minutes before my arrival time. Spent about 10 minutes trying to find a parking spot. arrived in the office about 5 minutes late. The office refused to see me and I had to make a new appoint. I will not be going to this office again since they cannot be more time forgiving. I am not sure how good of a Dr., Dr. Barrett is but judging by the way I was treated at the front office I will not be going to him again I would prefer to go to Medford where I know I will be treated better and where they are more time forgiving, especially during the weather we are having lately and with the parking situation the way it is.

I arrived 10 minutes early but the receptionist canceled my appointment because I wasn’t 20 minutes early. I drove to my appointment in a snow storm. I live 30 minutes from the office. Also, with the bad weather I previously requested an online appointment to discuss my test results, but was denied. If this cannot be resolved I will be looking for a new urologist. I previously had a good visit with DrBarrett, but this office procedure is unacceptable!

On time, listened to my concerns, provided a full explanation of treatment and supporting expectations. Very confident in his diagnosis, treatment options and concern for my health issues. Had to ask supporting staff for their first names (didn't introduce themselves or wear name tags), but other than that - completely addressed the reasons I scheduled the appt. Very professional organization.

Dr Barrett worked very well with me to get me through a thorough treatment that resulted in his performing a TURP to eliminate my bladder retention issue. I felt he provided thorough explanations, was never rushed. Explained pros and cons and made me feel comfortable to make all decisions. Based upon my experience, I would highly recommend Dr. Barrett to others.

the good doctor neglected to inform me of the resulting symptoms I should expect after the procedure... quite scary. I was also not informed that there would be large bills for NOT covered blood work (that the good doctor required)... nor was I warned that his people would spend more time telling me why it WASN'T THEIR RESPONSIBILTY than the doctor spent with me (in total!)

I have ad three different Urologists due to relocation. Dr. Barrett has provided the best treatment of all three for kidney stone and prostate issues. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Barrett diagnosed and subsequently helped me navigate through treatment options for intermediate (stage 2) prostate cancer. He was very thorough in diagnosing and explaining my cancer, and explaining my treatment options. He would have been my surgeon if I had decided to have my prostate removed, but he in no way pushed surgery. In fact, he made sure that I spoke with a radiation oncologist before I made my decision. I chose radiation and my first follow up results are positive. Thanks!
