Dr. Ronald Shashy, MD

Dr. Shashy has treated me for Tinitus, Sleep Apnea, and other sinus related issues. He has been very thorough and very attentive to my needs. I always enjoy our discussions and appreciate his attentiveness. Highly recommend visit Dr. Shashy for any ENT issue you might have.

Dr. Sashy had not reviewed previously provided scans and reports nor did he listen to the patient's complaints. He was much more interested in arguing with the patient and promoting himself. Time wasted!

I’m 35 years old and woke up with my hearing significantly diminished on one ear with pressure and pain. I went to an urgent care and my primary care doctor. They weren’t even close to giving me the right treatment. They tried to schedule me to a different ENT 2 weeks out. I called Dr. Shasy’s office and they got me in THAT DAY! He walked in, listened to my story and my symptoms, and diagnosed me in 5 minutes. I did some testing with the audiologist which confirmed my sudden hearing loss. Dr. Shasy explained the research, shared that it was 99% chance that the nerve connecting my brain to my ear had been attacked by a virus, and gave me what he felt was the best treatment plan. Well, it worked! My hearing is back 100% with no pressure or pain in my ear. Turns out this is a time based treatment, the faster the diagnosis and treatment the higher likelihood of a positive outcome. Dr. S isn’t about the fluff, he’s about curing his patients. The bedside manners were terrible. He made assumptions about me before even asking questions and didn’t let me speak. It was to the point that I even started crying during the visit and no one stopped to ask why. Will never go back and highly do not recommend.

They are nice and Dr is great but…..Third visit - third time the wait was almost an hour. The appointment was set for weeks!! This is terrible time management. Today’s appointment was supposed to be 11 and were called to see if we could come in at 10. Got there and still waited an hour. This should be addressed. ASAP.

I called his office to see how long it would take to get a patient copy of sleep lab tests. was told it would be over a month. In all fairness, I don't know if Dr. Shashy is proficient yet in treatment. His staff was very rude and condescending on the phone. Here are the standards for test results that seem common around the country: (So, for most sleep labs, the results are available within four to seven days and at the latest, two weeks in some sleep labs. So it’s somewhat variable, but usually within a week the sleep lab results are available to the patient and the doctor, the referring doctor.) I am not very pleased.

I was very impressed with my visit with Dr. Shashy.! He was courteous, pleasant, and asked question about my 85 years worth of ear and hearing problems.! He was very attentive to my answers and asked follow up questions, then performed the procedures I was there for.! All in all, my first visit with him was a memorable medical experience, and my first visit will definitely not be my last visit.!

Misdiagnosed me. Asked questions and then mockingly answered for me. Gave me the wrong medications for the problem. Now I may lose hearing in that ear

I'm a nurse myself so I have been trained in care and expectation. This guy was rude, vulgar, and made you feel as if you were bothering him by being in his office. Rushed in and out. He wouldn't answer any questions.

Dr. Shashy is the rudest doctor I have ever had the misfortune to encounter. I told one of his staff members that I was uncomfortable because the patients in the waiting room and even one of the staff members were not wearing masks. She apparently told him, so he comes in to the exam room and says he isn’t comfortable treating a patient that is concerned about masks. He then goes on a tirade about how masks are just a bunch of nonsense and that they don’t do anything to prevent the spread of COVID. He wasn’t even wearing his mask correctly. I can’t speak to his competence as a doctor because I left before any treatment.

Dr. Shashy is one of the all time worst physicians I have ever been to. During Covid; he didn't wear his mask until he came near me. He was only interested in what type of insurance I had. He literally didn't listen to anything I had to say and literally walked out the door when I was trying to speak with him. Worst physician ever. He should be ashamed of himself. Staff is friendly and competent.

He didn’t seem to care about tinnitus, and wanted me to do a sleep study and a psych evaluation. I feel like he blew me off , and probably talked more to me when I was leaving.

Dr. Shashy is thorough and able to make medical jargon easily understood. He has literally left no stone unturned to ensure my wellbeing im regards to my sleep patterns. I couldn’t recommend him more highly.

Dr.Shashy is very personable. He did my tonsillectomy and also took care of me when I had a post op bleed on day 13 (very RARE) He was so sweet and actually slept in the room down the hall from me that night after my emergency bleed in case I needed him. that is DEDICATION

Awesome doctor! I have been a patient for several years. He has treated me for sinus infection, suspicious lesions and throat infections. Waiting time is a little longer but he always spends a lot of time with me!! He thoroughly explains things to me. His staff is always friendly and gives me an appointment in a timely manner. I would highly recommend him.

He is a wonderful knowledgeable doctor. He was able to access and provide care quickly.

I initially brought my son with special needs to Dr. Shashy. He was quickly referred to a pediatric ENT at UK who got right on the problem and scheduled surgery. I then personally saw Dr. Shashy for my own issues. He explained things well, and gave me a referral for physical therapy. He can be quite to-the-point, but I would expect no less from a military vet. Thank you for your service, Dr. Shashy ... both in the military and in the medical field!
