Dr. Ronald Shiell, MD

Dr. Shiell's is a very skilled Dermatologist that specializes in the MOHS procedure. I was extremely concerned about scaring and the location of my procedure. Dr. Shiell's is very kind, patient and understanding and he explained everything he was going to do to eliminate the skin cancer and minimize scaring.

Squamous cell carcinoma on my ear, Dr. Shiell and his staff were very attentive and thorough, while maintaining a relaxed atmosphere. I felt very informed and confident that I had gone to the right doctor. Dr. Shiell sutured my wound, as would have also been my preference. All in all, my experience with this doctor was way better than with most! I highly recommend Dr. Shiell and West Dermatology.

My first skin cancer surgery was done by a plastic surgeon, and I was very pleased with the outcome -- very little scarring and no bumps. Dr Shiell did my second and third surgeries, and in both cases the stitching was very sloppy in comparison. I had bumps, flaps, and a pit (yeah I had a lot of places done) and one of the nostrils collapsed. I feel like I'm now permanently ugly.

Office staff is efficient. Have the highest regard for Dr. Shiell's professional ability and his genuine concern for his patients. Have referred several friends to him.

I am very satisfied with my experience at Dr. Ronald Shiell, MD. I see him at the West Dermatology Palm Springs office. The two major components to make or break a visit to any doctor's office are the front office staff's ability to deliver exceptional customer service and the doctor's bedside manner and knowledge. The front office staff is very helpful, friendly, and they go above the call-of-duty to ensure you are welcome in their office. Dr. Shiell has an extraordinary bedside manner and he is very knowledgeable in his field. His medical assistants are also extremely qualified and ready to answer questions. Bonus for not having to wait for 2 hours in the reception area! I was seen by Dr. Shiell within 15 minutes from the time I arrived. As a new desert dweller, I am lucky to have found Dr. Shiell for all my dermatological needs.

On a follow-up for Nitrogen burns of biopsied precancerous growths, Dr. Shiell addressed 3 new problems which included 2 new biopsies. I appreciate his professionalism, and continue to highly recommend him.

I have been seeking Dr. Shiell for several years. He has kept my psoriasis and pre-cancerous growths at bay. He is very quick and astute to pick up on skin problems and act effectively to resolve them. He is always very positive and genuinely interested in me as a human being. Best Dermatologist ever!

Outstanding service from a very highly professional staff.

Removed a basil cell carcinoma off the side of my nose. When I removed the bandage the next day I have to say I was shocked and did get depressed. I kept hearing his words over and over "it will heal fine". Yeah I thought I didn't mind scars. Well 3 weeks later it is really hard to see that I had a hole and 12 stitches. I think he did an amazing job. He was so gentle with his care and so kind with his words. And he was right. It healed beautifully! Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Heidi
