Ruined My Life
Telehealth
Told me I would need to stay on my medication forever because I have “OCD.” When I expressed my desire to start tapering and come off my medication, he dropped me as a patient! He said he could no longer see out of state patients because the pandemic had ended. Very convenient timing. I currently have Protracted Withdrawal Syndrome as a result of being on the medication long-term and not having done an adequate taper. Severe insomnia, nerve issues, heart palpitations and muted emotions. Treats his patients like a paycheck and insists do see him on a monthly basis only to speak about cooking and weekend plans. He is what’s wrong with the system.

Compassionate and Smart Doctor
From my initial appointment I felt very comfortable with the office staff Alex. He was really organized with paperwork, working with my insurance, and explaining scheduling (telehealth vs in-person options) & answering other questions. Dr. Ronald Wei was great at my first appointment. He asked all the right questions so the conversation flowed nicely. He has a nice demeanor so you feel comfortable talking about anything going on in your life without judgement. I look forward to continuing my care with this smart and kind doctor.

He does not listen to your mental health needs, nor does he care. I truly have felt WORSE instead of better since I started seeing him. He is very rude and belittles whatever you have to say. I would recommend any other mental health professional over him.

Dr. Wei helped me tremendously and is not like your typical shrink who only wants to prescribe you meds and be done with you. He is caring, insightful and sharp! Best doc I ever had!

A complete space case, after a year as a patient he began asking me things as if it was my first visit. Blatantly breached patient doctor confidentiality by referring to other people by name that I knew, that were also his patients and then giving me a dumbfounded look when he realized what he did. A waste of time and energy and in his own fairytale of ‘practicing medicine’.

I have been a patient of Dr. Wei for close to 8 years and I find him to be extremely knowledgeable in psychiatry and pharmacology. He has helped me tremendously. Horrible...gave me meds resulting in manic episode, nearly destroyed my life, but didn't care at all. He is incompetent, unprofessional, and if you care for your mental health at all, to to be avoided. Sure, if you're in the 90% where nothing happens, you'll be fine. But if you find yourself falling into the unlucky 10%, BEWARE--this so-called doctor cares NOTHING for your well-being if something goes wrong. He even made a misleading, false statement to a lawyer working for me, just to get himself off the hook and make me look bad. Is this what you want in a doctor?

I have to say, he doesn't care the least bit about what you have to say. He's quick to arrive at a judgment with so little he gathers from the patient. He relies on cultural stereotypes and is ill informed about the world. Interpersonal effectiveness falls short. Although it is true that many psychiatrists find the right medicine for the patient through trial and error, his approach is more crude than that of most.
