Does not listen to medical concerns.
Dr Richardson did not ever listen to me. I had a kidney stone and was prescribed painkillers in the hospital while it passed. I hated using them and scheduled a follow up to ask if there was a different med I could take. She said I was 'too young to get stones' (25) and accused me of just trying to get pills, even though she had my hospital records. I changed my diet drastically and started having symptoms of iron deficiency (warped nails being one). She pulled out a book with pictures of old mens' hands and condescendingly pointed at each one and asked if that looked like my hands and told me to lose weight. I insisted on a blood test, and I did in fact have low iron. She prescribed the wrong med when I asked for a refill on the birth control I've had for 9 years, and insisted it was correct. I had concerning symptoms after switching and she said I had to be pregnant, when that was negative she said I just needed to lose weight... Symptoms went away when I got the right med again.

This practitioner needs some PD stat
I am sure that Dr. Richardson has good intentions but she needs to update her practice, research, and bias. She basically shamed me for having used anxiety medication in the past to handle panic attacks without even asking about why the medical team I worked with recommended that (I was having a nervous breakdown and had also already been in counseling for a year). She told me I obviously wasn't a candidate for diabetes (wasn't a concern I had coming in) because of how I looked on my first appointment. I have family members that are skinny and diabetic, so this is troubling to hear a doctor 'believe'. She does often take up most of the talking time, can be condescending and dismissive about your concerns. I have been with a very validating (but also problem solving) practitioner who asked more questions and did less lecturing.

Excellent
Dr. Richardson takes the time and effort to get to know you and treats you as a partner regarding your health concerns. Reading other reviews, I’m confused as to why people complain about pricing when it’s out of Dr. Richardson’s control. Instead of rushing you, she will sit and explain any issue in depth.

IMO, She does not listen well. She is long winded in responses that are completely unrelated to your concerns - and will bill you for the extra time. She spoke to me about a surgery I had months before and got out a diagram to explain what happens in the surgery. I tried to interrupt, that my surgeon explained all that and that I had no concerns but she went, on and on, never even got to ask about my real issue and was charge $300 for 45 mins. Appointment was of no value. I will not go back to her.

Dr. Richardson always takes time to really listen to you and trusts what you are telling her versus just dismissing your symptoms, concerns or instincts. She has a wonderful blend of eastern and western medical thinking. She's great both for myself and my son.

My experience with Dr. Richardson was twofold. One experience concerned me and one concerned my daughter. Neither was positive. She displayed an acute lack of professionalism and disregard for our primary conditions.
