Dr. Tompkins, together with her colleague, Dr. Handley in Stanford, performance several surgeries to replace my son Henry’s aortic valve over the years. Each surgery was complicated and risky, and each one was a great success. Dr. Tompkins is brilliant, and highly skilled. She is a gifted cardiologist and an expert in her field. The one thing that reassured me throughout all of Henry‘s cardiac events, surgeries, and ongoing care was the fact that Dr. Tompkins was his cardiologist; she was in charge of his care, and I always knew he was in the best hands possible. She is a miracle worker. Perhaps the quality I have come to appreciate and cherish over the years is her genuine compassion and love she expressed for Henry. He suffered a major stroke in the hospital rendering him semi-paralyzed, and very traumatized. She came to his bedside and told him to fight. She inspired him to fight to survive, and he did. And thrived. We can never repay her for the gifts she has given us
