While Dr. Roy Heaton may be a personable man, as a doctor he is disorganized, lax and unfocused. He often tells stories that have nothing to do with the issue at hand or turns the discussion to something about himself which is a complete waste of time. I had to take on the role of his assistant to ensure that he gave me a prescription (he forgot so I had to remind him at the next appointment), reviewed my results (had to give him my copy of my radiology report since he couldn't find it in my file) and had to ask many questions since he talks in circles. At the end of the appointment he told a story about a family member who had the same condition and died! The bottom line is that he scares more than comforts.

Have been going to Dr. Heaton for a long time off and on as needed. Am now back for a long-neglected sciatica problem. His manipulations are making a difference; it is good to be pain free again.

I missed my initial appointment and he was willing to stay during his lunch so that I could make up my appointment. He took his time to analyze the issue and provide the correct care to me for my issue. He is great in conversation as well. I would recommend him if you are new to the area looking for a doctor.

Very good doctor for uncomplicated issues. Absolutely willing to take extra time and listen. For strep throat or migraines or something straightforward I would go.. But if you have something complicated, unusual or coexisting conditions I would pick someone else. (As I did). On a personal level this doctor is far above average but in terms of following me through multiple sugergies and an unusual diagnosis he didn't as a primary care physician. He didn't follow through in that aspect.

Dr. Heaton's osteopathic treatments helped in alleviating hip and leg pain from sciatica over the course of about 6 months. The pain went away and has not recurred. I continue to see Dr. Heaton for monthly maintenance manipulations to assure that the pain doesn't return.
