The best!
Dr. Schottenfeld is incredibly smart, knowledgeable, and experienced. He was top of his class at the best ENT school in the country, John Hopkins. And, icing on the cake, he is one of the warmest, most gracious, pleasant doctors you will ever come across. Great location near North Fulton Hospital, easy parking, and they will normally squeeze you in for an appointment within a couple of days. Highly recommend him!

Needs 10 Stars
I have been a patient of his for several years. He previously diagnosed me with a condition when other doctors could not. Once again, when all others failed me, didn’t know what was going on, I reached out to him. He, as expected knew exactly what it was, did an in office procedure, meds to treat and within 24 hours I can swallow again. Compassionate, extremely knowledgeable, he is the very best! Great staff as well.

Outstanding Bedside Manner
I recently saw Dr. Schottenfeld for a second opinion after having seen an ENT that suggested surgery. Dr. Schottenfeld asked relevant questions, explained his examination, examined me and then discussed non-surgical options he would prefer to try. I am a physician and very much appreciated his bedside manner (he did not know I was a physician until later in our clinic visit). He gets 5 stars from me and a very positive written review for his excellent customer service by Dr. Schottenfeld and his staff.

This man prescribed an antibiotic at full dose that has a black box warning (levaquin) and is known to cause achilles tendonitis and did not warn me. I saw him Feb 2021 and by end of March I had achilles tendonitis and have been seeing an ankle doctor since. It is now June and this is not recovered yet. All for a possible but not verified minor sinus infection. Over prescribes antibiotics without follow up and incorrect diagnosis. After a second opinion and transferring of his notes to new dr. There were no notes in his chart of what he prescribed or CT scan information. They do everything through notes and those are not official records. That is a huge red flag. Had to do it all over again with new ENT. Didn't treat me appropriately with taking my epilepsy into consideration. Prescribed high doses of medications that can cause seizures. During our consult he was on his cell phone with what seemed like personal calls continually with little focus on me. Very distracted.

On January 10 2019 I visited Dr Shottenfeld at Northfulton ENT's Cumming office. A specialist conducted a hearing test for me. She reviewed the report with me in detail such as the difference in hearing loss in both my ears, etc. I requested numerous times for this hearing report but never got it. Months later, I received a letter from Dr. Schottenfeld. The letter is amusing as well as indicative of what kind of business they run. This letter includes a short diagnostic description, irrelevant to the hearing report requested. His letter was dated Jan. 9, 2019. The date is before my first visit of his office (Jan.10). He might be a clairvoyant also, he diagnosed me the day before I arrived at his office! The letter was actually mailed on April 30, 2019 as postmark shows. His clinic held my hearing report for months and then Dr. Schottenfeld sent me a letter with a phony date showing that my request was fulfilled. Why? I still have not received the report that I requested.

Truly one of the few doctors I trust. Dr. Schottenfeld took care of my deviated septum and since then I (four years) I have not had any sinus infections. He is hilarious but also very thoughtful and reassuring. Go see him!

Dr. Schottenfeld is very caring and thorough. He listened to everything I had to say about my symptoms and he addressed every one of them. After the tests and an MRI he performed a sinus surgery on me and my whole life changed for the better since the surgery. I will recommend more than 100% anyone with sinus issues to go see Dr. Schottenfeld.
