Dr. Ruth Brocato, MD

I am overweight and have been since I was a child. I know this is not ideal, however my active daily life and activities are not impacted by this fact, and I have no health conditions that are related to my weight. For context, I am a size 16 (women's). Over the course of Many visits Dr. Brocato would always focus on my weight, despite the fact that the things I was seeing her about were unrelated (i.e. a sinus infection). She tried to schedule appointments for me that would serve as 'weigh ins' to 'keep me on track'. She also told me I should use my therapist to help make a plan for my weight loss. It got to the point where I wouldn't go to the doctor when I needed to because I knew she would ignore me and focus the conversation to weight loss. I see many positive reviews, so I believe she is a good doctor, just not for someone that is overweight.

Dr Brocato has always responded to my portal inquiries, fit me in for a sick visit, her MA is helpful and friendly. She listens, allows me to have input and suggestions about my care and treatment and also is careful and attentive to ensuring I’m up to date on screenings and tells me what isn’t a good idea or isn’t best. She is on time and still takes a few minutes to chat and connect on a personal level.

Dr. Brocato demonstrates genuine care and concern about the total patient. Great patient advocate, and she always listens to patient concerns. Extremely knowledgeable and very professional.

I have been seeing Dr. Brocato for a couple years now. She listens to you and actually cares about what you are saying. She cares about you as a whole person including your mind. I am so grateful to have found her after being scared to go to the doctor for years. Her staff is incredible too.

I like Dr. Brocato very much, she takes her time to talk to you, very intelligent, personable and caring and that's a rare find! She is a keeper for me and my husband! You will love her!!!

I just changed my health insurance from Kaiser to Care First/Blue Cross. I was not happy with Kaiser doctors. I came to Health Grades while choosing my new doctor and I am so happy that I picked up Dr. Ruth Brocato!! In just 2 consultations she showed more acknowledgement than all doctors I have seen in 18 years in the US. Her nurse was excellent and not one of those overweight ladies who really don't inspire us to get healthy. Professional, on time, on top, updated with last medical studies.

Extremely caring and great bed side manner. I have never had such a great PCP and she's also very accessible, usually responding to questions the same day. Couldn't recommend her more.

Dr Brocato is one of the best doctors I have gone to in my 50 years. She looks at you as a whole person- mind, body, and spirit! She is very thorough and thoughtful. My husband also goes to Dr Brocato and had an emergency splenectomy last year- she was on the phone when she got the reports from Univ of MD and has been very helpful with his follow up instructions. My husband and I can't recommend her highly enough- you will be lucky if you can get in now!

Such a caring and lighthearted Dr. Really took the time to listen to all of my concerns, no matter how small. Answered all of my questions and is completely knowledgeable about how to approach my health concerns as I enter into my mid 40's. Someone I truly trust. Always accessible as well which is really important to me.

Dr. Brocato is amazing - so smart and really takes the time to talk through every concern. I have recommended her to everyone in my office, and they all agree. Best GP I have ever had - trust her implicitly.

She is smart and shares her knowledge. I feel safe with her. I am a cancer survivor and I need someone who will go the extra mile to partner with me. She is right for that.
