Always took time to explain what was going on with me. Even though I am a nurse he took all the time I needed to answer all my questions. So sorry to see him gone from Racine. I ended up with another dr not at Ascension but feel that because he didn't treat me he was not really interested in me. Wish I could continue to see Dr Engel. The best oncologist!!

I missed Dr. Engel he gave me courage when I thought I didn't have any. I went to receive chemo one day and learned he was no longer with the organization. He was kind, thorough, and drew pictures to get me to understand my condition and what was the best treatment plan. None of the staff could tell me but I could no one wanted to see him leave.

Where did my favorite Doctor go? Dr. Engel was to me a trusted physician and easy to be honest with while going through my cancer journey. He continued to see me when I probably should have been seeing a GP. I loved that he actually cared. I want him back!

Dr. Engel was such a positive part of my cancer treatment. Always encouraging, thoughtful and helpful. Then he was gone-Ascension gave me no information, just phoned and cancelled my appointment, saying he was no longer there. It is so important to have a Dr. you have confidence in with serious illnesses and Dr. Engel instilled trust and confidence. I truly hope he is well and will be available soon in the Racine area Thank you so much, Dr. Engel.

Dr. Engel is the most caring and competent doctor. I am so grateful for the care I have received from him. He truly values his patient's input, listens, and takes great care in explaining diagnosis and care options. You never feel rushed out of the office and know he won't let you leave until your questions are all answered. He has provided me his personal phone number to be able to reach out for help should I need it. I did need to contact him on the weekend and he personally and promptly answered the call and helped me. I have also observed him with other patients and he is always approachable, greeting each person by name. His staff is dedicated to working with him and also provide excellent care. I would not want any other oncologist and I highly recommend him to anyone needing care for a cancer diagnosis.

DR. Engel was amazing with my father!!! I brought my father here from Las Vegas, and I was so happy with the care he received from Dr. Engel. Always took the time to talk to us and explained everything thoroughly. Whenever my father was hospitalized he was there to see him. Not only shows great comfort and compassion to the patient but to the family as well. An amazing Doctor!! Always going above and beyond. I would recommend him to everyone!

I would like this physician to be my primary care physician. He’s a good listener, compassionate and thoughtful. While he specializes in hematology/oncology, he has significantly assisted me with my other health concerns which have greatly improved my wellbeing, and whenever I was hospitalized, he was there to visit me even though he was not my primary care physician. He has helped me to improve my health concerns.
