Ankle replacement surgery
I had a problem for years with pain in my ankle . I was told by more then one dr it was a heel fracture. Sent me home with a boot and that was it . I finally had enough . I happen to come across dr McMillan. Got an appointment within a few days . After first visit he reassured me I didn’t just have a fractured heel . He said explained in detail to me and my husband what needed to be done . So sept 9 2024 I had a full ankle replacement. It’s only been a week and trust me pain is still there. I am thankful I found him . Hospital stay was good. Nurses were amazing . Dr staff is also very caring . They all treat you like a human not a number . I got more time to heal and Hope wish me luck

Dr. McMillen is one of the best doctors I have ever had and did an awesome job with both of my toe fusions. He is so kind and thorough with what will happen and is an overall great human being.

No Care, No Compassion Very Little Time Spent
Dr. McMillen was more concerned about moving onto the next patient than address my concerns. I have had pain for over 6 weeks in my foot and he never even looked at my foot! He took me to take Ibuprofen and when I explained multiple times I cannot due to being on blood thinners, he continued to tell me to take it and even documented in mychart to take it if I wanted the swelling to go down. I tried discuss alternatives (heat, ice, etc) and he wanted no part of the conversation just kept going back to Ibuprofen, which again I cannot take. The nursing staff is amazing, his student doctor was amazing but I would stay away from him. Now will be looking for a new doctor.

Best Wound Specialist Ever!
I would recommend Dr. McMillen as the best podiatry/wound care specialist in Allegheny County. He had taken care of me (had to have toe/foot bone amputations after being treated by another podiatrist for months and steadily getting worse). Dr. McMillen's follow up care after my surgery (18 months) was remarkable. I felt he cared about me as a patient-he always took time to explain what he was doing & the different medications he was using in my recovery. His nurses & P.A.s were fantastic & I could not have asked for a better home health nurse than the one I had for almost 18 months.

If I could leave 0 stars I would. The absolute worst doctor I’ve ever been to. I tore ligaments in my ankle. He did surgery and the moment my cast came off I told him something was wrong. He didn’t listen. I kept telling him, my PT knew something was off, again he didn’t listen. He essentially told me a PT knew nothing. He cleared me to work because “his medical opinion I was fine” (I was still on crutches no weight) Finally went to another surgeon turns out he left my tendon tore and didn’t do the surgery correctly. So I have to have another surgery. Thank god with another surgeon. Wine to my PCP to get physical for second surgery and he told me I’m not the first person that said this doctor wouldn’t listen and had to go to another surgeon to get fixed. Do NOT COME TO HIM. Save yourself the time and pain

I have seen Dr McMillen 3 times, & have scheduled surgery on a toe that was damaged years ago by another orthopedic doctor. Dr M is very nice, thorough, and explains what is going on with my entire foot, plus what surgical repair will help. Highly recommend him.

Just had my second surgery by Dr. McMillen. Had fusion on my right foot 3 years ago and now the left. What a great doctor. He is so patient and makes you feel comfortable. He takes his time to talk to you and treats you like you are one of his long time friends. I moved 1 1/2 hours away between the first surgery and this one but travel the distance just for Dr.McMillen. Hands down the best foot doctor well any doctor I have ever encountered.

I only have great things to say about Dr. McMillen and his staff. He operated to repair my left foot for severe arthritis and a flat foot condition. He took the time to explain to my wife and I what he was going to do and how he would proceed. I had the operation performed on October 30,2017 at the Jefferson hills hospital where I must say that the staff and nurses gave me great care . I can't remember all there names but a special thanks to nurse Ann for your great care. Highly Recommend!

I would recommend Dr. McMillen to anyone and everyone. Doctors like him are few and far between. His work is exceptional, and he is the most down to earth humble doctor I have ever encountered. Many doctors could learn quite a lot from Dr. McMillen. I could go on and on relating positives about him!

I broke my fibula requiring surgery. Dr.McMillen is the best ankle surgeon in the city of Pittsburgh. He went above and beyond to take the time and talk through each and every step as it related to my ankle surgery. No better specialist out there when it comes to a foot and ankle physician. Thank you, doctor.

Dr. McMillen explained clearly, in regular English (not doc lingo I couldn't understand), exactly all my options and then helped me walk through them to come to a path that I was comfortable with. He made me feel as if I was in control and a part of the process.
