Great physician! Kindness, intelligence, and a desire to help his patients. I couldn’t ask for more. I’m very blessed and thankful to have Dr. Unger as my primary care physician. I just love him and his staff. I would, and do, recommend him to anyone that wants great health care!

I met with Dr. Unger once for my health concerns. He was very nice, then the next visit, I was turned over to the nurse practitioner. I’ve never seen him again in the two years I’ve been going there. The wait is so very long to see anyone, (over 2 hours) it’s just not worth going anymore. They don’t return your calls, the NP is nice but is so busy she can’t possibly handle your issues. They’ve never even done a blood test, x-ray, or any other tests. I’m 70. I would never recommend this office to anyone.

I want to start by saying I do not like to leave any negative review on the Internet. If I have a negative experience, I would simply take a note myself and never return. However, the experience with Dr. Unger was so awful I feel the need to let others know. I chose Dr. Unger by just browsing my in-network physicians directory when I first moved to Knoxville. I don’t have chronic health issues and I only need a PC doctor for annual physical exams. The first time was good. The nurse took my blood work and Dr. Unger went though some basics. The second time I made an appointment to discuss my results. I waited in the room for OVER AN HOUR to the point I was really concerned that I was forgotten. I went out of the room and saw him laughing with office staff. I was so upset but thought it might be just one time thing. I returned several weeks ago to do my annual exam. I checked in and waited in the waiting room for 50 minutes. I left with no plan to return. It’s outright disrespectful.

Over the last couple of years he seems to either be over worked or burned out and the office seems to be horribly managed....no return calls....delays in refills...unaware of condition...staff wants you to handle finding your own drs in network....basically doing their job for them....I had better care from nurse practitioners

I really don’t know much about Dr. Unger since, not once, but twice I sat in his waiting room for at least 1.5 hours. The first time I was finally taken to a patient room, where again I waited so long I had to go out and make sure I had not been forgotten. Finally Dr. Unger rushed in and spent very little time with me. He actually talked about himself more than addressing my health issues. Stupidly I went a 2nd time and sat in the waiting room for another hour and a half. I was told he was running behind. I walked out, never to return to this doctor who obviously has zero respect for his patients’ time and/or health. Totally unacceptable.

Dr. Unger is absolutely amazing! He's the most understanding Doctor I've ever seen! He's very knowledgable and patient. He doesn't treat you like a job as much as he makes you feel like family

Love Dr. Unger and his nurse, Katie! Dr. Unger is very personable and caring. If you have a problem, he will find it! He seems to really care about his patients, listens, and explains what he believes to be the best course of action. Katie can draw blood like nobody's business and puts patience at ease before meeting with Dr. Unger.
