I have been a patient with the practice for a little over a year. I can say that from the first visit, I have found my experience to be a positive one. Whether I am meeting with Dr. Ahmed or Audrey, it is evident in both their actions and their expressions that they genuinely care and are wanting to help their patients. There are times where they may seem rushed, but I know from my professional background that nearly all medical practitioners have too much on their plate, and I've got no doubt that this is even more amplified with specialists like Dr. Ahmed. Whether it be responding to patient portal inquiries, asking the front office questions, or actual in-person interactions, I have always observed and felt that the practice is patient-centric. I can only speak to my experience, but my experience is that Dr. Ahmed is a knowledgeable, compassionate practitioner who is committed to helping - in any way within her abilities - improve the quality of life for her patients. I couldn't give Suburban Rheumatology a stronger vote of confidence, and am so glad to be in their care.

Disappointed
I have been seeing Dr Ahmed for over 2 yrs and she keeps changing my diagnosis. She wanted me to take a medication that I have taken before but it didn't help. She initially wanted me to have an MRI done but now wants to wait until the medication kicks in. I wish she would take the time to listen & review my chart before giving medications that don't work! I dont recommend seeing this doctor.

Was recommended back in December by my primary. First available appointment was scheduled for the end of March. Received a call that appointment needed to be changed because of lack of help. Wonder why? This appointment was rescheduled for May 3rd at a time that I could make it from Newfane, safely, and on time. I was called about a week before to tell me that I needed to change the time to an earlier one. I said this was not going to work for me as my 1/2 day begins at 12:00. I finally agreed to a 12:45 appointment, because I was afraid that if I didn't I would be rescheduled for another extended wait time, but explained that it was going to be very difficult to get there and that if I was late would that be a problem. I guess not since the appointment was scheduled. Today was my appointment. I arrived 11 minutes late because of distance, traffic (scheduled around 12:00 rush hour), construction, etc. Came in, paid co-pay sat down to wait. I was told the PA(?) was new so the doctor wanted to be there for the appointment which is why the time was changed. Receptionist was beyond helpful and friendly. About 10 minutes later I was told by the Office Manager that since I was late they would not longer be able to see me. I was devastated to say the least. I repeatly asked him to talk with the doctor, restating how long I have been waiting for this appointment and how the time had been changed and I had advised it would be more than likely that I would be running late. He finally did, all the while saying she would still say no, and of course that is what happened. I asked what their late policy was and was told 15 minutes, but you need to call to let them know you'll be late. Let's review that I did tell them I would most likely be late because the time they were asking was not feasible for me. I received my copay back, which I did grab rather unkindly, but who wouldn't have. I will NEVER go back there, recommend her practice to anyone who is suffering, and make sure that she gets a bill for the time she wasted of mine that is just as valuable as hers. SHAME on Dr. Ahmed and her office manager for being so uncaring. Receptionist was the only saving grace to this debacle of a doctor's office.

Retracting my previous review
I am retracting a previous post. The problems were rectified and I will continue to see Dr Ahmed. My previous post was written in anger and frustration, and I retract my words. I am being treated fairly and professionally by Suburban Rheumotology.

Great doctor
I have an issue that is tough to treat.. She really listens to what you say before giving you treatment options or changes. Short wait time and there is a treatment team that works together on site. Very happy with Dr and her team.

Disappointed so far
I have seen Dr Sadia Ahmed about 3 times so far. I am newly diagnosed with "arthritis". The 1st 2 medications she tried me on I could not tolerate. I left a message on my patient portal and 2 messages on the office phone when I was having side effects with the 2nd medication and had to discontinue it. I never got a return call until a week later from I assume her nurse. I was told to continue taking otc meds until my next visit which was about a month away. I am getting progressively worse. I see I am seeing the nurse practioner on my next visit. I am surprised because Dr Ahmed has not established any treatment plan yet. I am very disappointed so far. I will see how this next office visit goes before looking for another dr.

Jennifer the PA was absolutely amazing! I've never felt more heard from a medical professional in my life. She was thorough and took plenty of time to listen to all of my issues. Dr. Ahmed on the other gave a bad impression before I even met her by yelling at one of her staff members very loudly. After waiting over an hour after my appointment time, she came in and was rushing through everything. She kept talking over me and interrupting me and told me my xrays looked good and everything was fine and then when I asked about a specific joint, like my neck, she told me, oh yes, you have a compressed nerve in your neck. I had to keep going through each joint before she would tell me the problem with it, offered me a steroid shot right off the bat, and gave me a blanket diagnosis before prescribing me an antidepressant. She ignored my concerns over taking such a drug and sent me on my way. Will be seeking not only a second opinion, but a doctor who will take the time to diagnose and treat

Not only is Dr Sadia Ahmed the very best at was she does. She actually surrounds herself with top notch staff all the way from her PA Jennifer to her receptionist Akeera. I couldn’t ask for more. It’s no fun being sick, but they were very reassuring that they would have me feeling better as quickly as possible. Did I ever feel relieved!

Jennifer is AMAZING. Would have continued with the practice if it was just her but you have to switch between her and Dr. Ahmed. Felt that Dr. Ahmed was very condescending and didn't believe I truly was having issues although my labs said otherwise. During my first appointment she made a comment about how I could just be depressed and I should see her husband- fast forward 6 months, and I have been diagnosed with Lupus. The office staff was not very helpful, as I had issues getting my medications because my insurance required a prior auth. I was told that "my insurance is annoying." Would only recommend Jennifer......

Don't see her if you openly identify as transgender. Otherwise i absolutely endorse her as an amazing rheumatologist. She cares about her patients and I definitely felt heard. I know some people are saying in their reviews that she's saying "they're too young" for all of this, but that's just her style of encouragement. I mean, if you're in your 20s and feeling absolutely broken down and hopeless, how are you going to continue living your life past 30? If you've already given up there isn't anything that any doctor can do for you. I found Dr. Ahmed through a family member who specifically didn't like her *Because* this family member had given up. My relative couldn't fathom a life without their painkillers. Dr. Ahmed wants you to get better and be better. I'm sad that she isn't on board with the direction I've chosen for my life but I'll always be appreciative for how much I've grown under her care. Office wait times can be a little while, but she's worth the wait with a growth mindset

Treats for issues you do not have. Put me on methotrexate for 14 weeks for Chronic Episcleritis which is an eye condition resulting from an undiagnosed infection somewhere in my body. I have had a multitude of auto immune symptoms ranging butterfly rash to licheon sclerosis. Ordered x rays which show no signs of joint problems. I believe over 15 x -rays of my body were ordered. She told me my waist line was fatty so my liver may be fatty. Her only concern was to see if my liver could withstand the drug. Once she confirmed the liver was not fatty, she put me on methotrexate for 14 weeks. Later I found she put into notes that she wanted me on methotrexate for the rest of my life. All my symptoms were ignored. When I questioned the drug as all my symptoms worsened, she stated I should see a GI doctor as there was no rheumatological reason for my symptoms and her services could no longer help me. Also extremely rude to her staff.
