Superb Hospitalist
I was admitted to UCI - Lakewood CA, in early December...Hospitalists are responsible for coordination of care, between various hospital specialists...I had two specialists, a neurologist and a vascular surgeon; with the vascular surgeon Dr. Rayhanabad being the doctor, along with Dr. Golestaneh, that broke the news to me, about an 80% clogged carotid artery...the issue was not IF I would have a stroke, but WHEN...I was given two choices: 1 - Stay in the hospital and have the surgery completed or 2 - Go home and have the procedure done on an outpatient basis...both doctors urged me to have it done while in the hospital...it was an easy decision to make, and I am thankful that both doctors stressed the urgency of the situation...obviously, since the surgery was completed on 12-8, and this is being written on 12-28, it was a success
