Dr Pfeiffer authored our IVF success story!
My wife and I had tried four rounds of IVF with another doctor with no success when we decided to switch to Dr. Pfeiffer's care. We weren't totally new to each other as she'd performed corrective surgery (blocked Fallopian tube) during one of our earlier rounds. Dr. Pfeiffer gave us excellent advise, showed incredible empathy and cheered us on every step of the way. When it was time for us to consider an egg donor, she wisely told us so and helped us make sure the donor offered was the right one for us based on our previous experience b/c she wanted us to finally succeed. We now have a little boy and it's all thanks to her expert care.

Caution
I was operated on by Dr Pfeifer as a minor. I won't go into detail, but she neglected one of the main reasons for operation (I now need a previously avoidable surgery or I could risk becoming infertile). At the same time, she operated on another organ, leaving scarring and horrible pain. Despite her gaining hurried permission from my parent, that part of the operation was a completely unnecessary procedure at the time, and I have dealt with horrible pain and countless doctors visits since. I don't think I'll ever be the same again, and she has the audacity not to answer my emails. She had multiple students in the room while I was being anesthetized, and her notes were not comprehensive. I wasn't warned of the students' involvement, nor was I prepared for a lifetime of pain that could have been avoided. Cold woman. Her name has come highly recommended since then... just be forewarned.

I was awed time and again by Dr. Pfeifer's expertise and knowledge in the field of reproductive medicine. She always treated me with so much compassion and sensitivity that just knowing that I was in her care gave me peace of mind. She's very professional, always gentle and understanding. She really cared for my well being. It was unbelievable how she saved my ovary while keeping me calm throughout! She's a pure goodness of character! I simply don't have enough words to thank her! It was the greatest experience that I could have ever imagined. Thank you Thank you Doctor!

Terrible. I was born with a congenital uterine anomaly a unicornuate uterus with a rudimentary horn and Dr. Pfeifer operated on me when I was 15 years old. First off she told me she was going to do it laparoscopicly and couldn’t and that was disappointing. She removed the obstructed hemi uterus (rudimentary horn) along with my Fallopian tube. I thank her for keeping both my ovaries so I can at least do surrogacy which by the way I was NEVER told was an option but might be my only hope and she as a doctor should know that. Basically I’m 30 now NEVER been pregnant and stopped getting my periods at 26. This is NOT something a woman of childbearing should be going through. She acted like I could easily have children naturally telling me that and “if you have twins you have to be careful” she sugarcoated everything and lied to a 15 year old who wanted at least one biological child. Also btw I was born with one kidney that caused my anomaly which she explained correctly but not good overall

I'm not one to write reviews in general, but I had such a positive experience with Dr. Pfeifer and the entire staff at Weill Cornell Center for Reproductive Health that I thought it fitting. I recently underwent a specialized reproductive surgery, and my search for doctor within my network who performed it was in itself complicated. I waited a few months to consult with Dr. Pfeifer, but it was well worth the wait. She is not only an amazing physician in the technical sense, but also a fantastic

I found Dr. Pfeifer to be brilliant and thoughtful. I could not have foreseen all of the different issues and options that would come up with trying to have children and Dr. Pfeifer helped us navigate these issues as they arose with confidence and understanding. Highly recommend.

Saw Dr Pfeifer in 2015 and had a wonderful experience. She was direct in treatment plan, approach and options. She was always available to see if needed and I saw her every time I went in for monitoring. Her nurses were wonderful as well and very responsive to phone calls. If I needed to talk to pfeifer directly she did call. Have since had to change doctors to try for baby 2 and can’t find one that i trust and who is as comprehensive as pfeifer was!

I have dealt with Dr. Pfeiffer for over two years. She really doesn't fit the description of a good Dr. she is curt doesn't follow up with you no matter what type of emergency I had. I took a private medical consultant and had her look over my protocol and there where tons of mistakes!!!! I found that dealing with her and her staff made my as is stressful IVF cycles so much more stressfull!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pfeifer was great during IVF consultation. HOWEVER, during IVF she NEVER called with any sort of results or follow up except for the morning of the transfer. That's it. After a positive pregnancy test, she didn't call. Her nurse did. After a lutheal test said my HSG levels are low and might not be a viable pregnancy, still no call. When I asked her secretary for an appointment, receptionist said she will "pencil me in" for 2 weeks from today. I am SO disappointed. And sad really.

×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Pfeifer?
Despite my young age, I can assure you I am not naive. I was referred to Dr. Pfeifer through my school for various abnormal test results, and after 6 months I have only gotten worse and extremely frustrated. My anxiety is astronomical. From the very first appointment, this doctor failed to make me feel at ease, and answer my questions completely and with clarity. Perhaps she doesn't like proactive patients who do their own research. Also impossible to get in touch with her. Do not recommend.

Used Pfeifer for IUI and IVF. There are better options that provide more personalized and professional care. -During IVF cycles, we received 0 calls from Pfeifer; all the care was left to the nurse. Nurse was great, but terrible 'bedside manner' for Dr to not call. -Office 'forgot' to call with injection instructions; nobody answered emergency phone # -Fertilization results given by nurse, not Pfeifer, so no explanation of results -Dr didn't call with Day 5 embryo results until Day 7.

Dr Pfeifer has been great to work with! This was my first time doing IVF due to a male infertility factor and chose Cornell based on a referral from a Urologist in KC,MO. She was always very responsive to my questions and allowed me to email her since I was not local to the area. She is one of the nicest MDs and truly cares for her patients. She even called me after my husband's procedure and before my retrieval to see how I was doing. This is a high volume clinic, but never felt like a number.
