Dr. Samata Basani, MD

I have had two visits for help balancing hormones. Dr Basani is very knowledgeable and her guidance is sound. I am doing much better. I didnt have to wait too long and the staff were all pleasant. I left a message with her nurse a few days before my second visit regarding labs and was promptly responded to.

More interested in billing insurance for your time than providing proper prescriptions. No trust here.

Dr. Samata Basani is an excellent Endocrinologist and specialist in providing solutions and encouragement for Type 1 Diabetics. She stays very current on a dynamic changing world with new insulins, new insulin pumps, new Continuous Glucose Monitoring Systems, and closed loop solutions. She is flexible to help her patients adopt the right treatment. She has been very helpful to me for the past 5 years (I have had T1D for 55 years and have worn a pump for more than 20 years) and has been just as helpful to my 24 year old son who was diagnosed with T1D 12 months ago (he uses MDI using an insulin pen solution). She is willing to appeal for the right solution with my insurance company who has sometimes been difficult to provide what we have needed. She understands the importance of good glucose control and is always very encouraging to address other issues that challenge diabetics. She encouraged me to lose weight, when I needed to hear it. I cannot say enough positive things about her.

Dr. Basani is a compassionate and wise doctor. I'm so grateful for her attention to details and how she explains my conditions and options for treatment. I've seen a few other endocrinologist docs, but Dr. Basani goes that extra mile!

I found Dr. Basani to be very knowledgeable regarding diabetes and the complications that arise, I have only been a patient for a short duration but have seen solid and positive improvements. She always takes the time to explain in terms that I understand and has a very reassuring easy manner.

Dr. Basani explains things very clearly, and really helps you understand what various medications can do. She made an immediate positive impact on my health when I was first referred to her.

Dr. Basani talks to me like a peer rather than a patient, we have real conversations about managing my diabetes. She's focused and caring. I'm really glad I found such a great endo. I'm moving to another part of town, but will make the drive to see her without hesitation.

So impressed! Dr. Basani saw me so quickly, and she took a lot of time to talk with me, find out my history, discuss my options, and explain my lab results to me. She is excellent at explaining complicated medical jargon in a way that is easy to follow and understand. She really spends the time needed to co-create in an informed way with her patients. Her office staff is fantastic, personable, and organized. I didn’t have to wait, and they were the only endocrinologist office in the Dallas area that would even call me back. And I’m glad, because I wouldn’t have wanted any other doctor!

Dr. Basani is very knowledgeable on Type 1 Diabetes treatments, medicines, and tools. She listens well and I always look forward to my visits with her as I know I will learn more about the disease I have had for 53 years. I can't say enough positive things about her and her staff.

Excellent doctor. Knows her stuff cold. Tells it like it is.

Her weakest link is her staff. I can't get a message to her without her incompetent staff intervening disastrously. They cost me $120 by submitting two bad RXs to mail order (100 test strips for a 90 day supply, what diabetic only tests 100x in 90 days). And they know I'm on a pen, but they ordered vials. Recently I asked about the new Eversense CGM, they said they haven't heard of it and I'd have to come in and pay a co-pay to talk to the Dr. about it. Why am I paying to educate them?

Was impressed with her bedside manner, knowledge, and time she took to explain in depth the cause, reasoning, and approach to diagnose. Will be returning to her and would highly recommend her to those looking for a knowledgeable and compassionate Endocrinologist.
