Dr. Samir Rao, MD

After thirty years dealing with doctors, I have never come across any doctor as rude as this doctor. I'm a breast cancer survivor and I had issues with the silicone. Went to see him and they treated me like I was a piece of paper, not a human being.The office is unprofessional. They gave me the wrong time and when I confronted they started having an attitude.I feel like I was treated badly. Be aware dont let fancy offices fool you. I came home with the EKG things stuck on my back.

I recently visited Dr. Rao to receive a second opinion on the outcome of a lumpectomy. My original plastic surgeon made the referral. I read Dr. Rao's bio on the practice's website about him being a 'compassionate care provider.' Unfortunately, that is not the individual I met. While he was straight forward and seemed to be knowledgeable, there was absolutely no empathy or compassion present during my consultation with him. There was actually an undertone that I was wasting his time. Clearly his time in the profession has hardened him to the fact that some of the people on his exam table are struggling or trying to recover from life altering diseases or illnesses and that a bit of humanity is in order. I do not recommend this provider.

Completely dismissed my concerns and left the room.

I was referred to Dr. Rao after being diagnosed with Breast Cancer. He handled my situation with the utmost compassion, care and professionalism. They took time for my questions, walked me through options and supported me wonderfully during my process. And my results are beyond anything I imagined!! Dr. Rao and his team are simply the best!

This is not a review of the doctor but of his front desk staff. I called trying to make an appointment for a consultation and two different women who answered kept interrupting when I was trying to ask about possible times and dates, talking over me, and then one shouted at me for trying to finish my question. I've made many medical appointments in my life and have never encountered anything like this unprofessionalism and rudeness. I'll make my appointment elsewhere.

There are three amazing things about Dr. Rao. One is that he listens intently, is compassionate and works hard to give you the results you want. Two is that he must have been a seamstress in his former life. The man can sew! I had a breast reduction and augmentation and a tummy tuck. My scars are gorgeous. Lastly and most importantly, Dr. Rao is an artist. What talent! I have the most gorgeous boobs in all of the world and the flattest tummy and narrow waist. Dr. Rao and I are going to be seeing a lot of each other as I grow older! Never will you feel more heard, confident, safe and gorgeous than when you are in the very talented hands of Dr. Rao.

Dr. Rao and team are absolutely incredible! I consulted with several surgeons before choosing Dr. Rao and I am so thankful I did. He removed my implants, did a lift and fat transfer and a mini tummy tuck. He fixed my DR from my two pregnancies and immediately fixed years of back pain. He has given me back my pre-mom body and after over a year after the surgery I’m still in awe with the incredible work that Dr. Rao and team has done. The team was wonderful and made me feel so comfortable. The operating room was private and welcoming. They were incredible to work with and I HIGHLY recommended them!

Dr. Is very professional, experienced and not only a Doctor but an Artist!!!! I am very satisfied with the results of my procedure. I really trust Dr. Rao and his Team. I Highly recommend to first visit his practice before making any decisions.

My experience with Dr. Rao and the Center for Plastic Surgery was excellent. As a cancer patient, Dr. Rao made sure my concerns were addressed, patient, and had excellent bedside manners. He will always enter the room with a warm greeting and smile. Positive energy! The staff at CPS was the best. They made my life easy by ensuring that my appointments and surgeries were scheduled and processed smoothly. The staff was pleasant, professional, and always greeted with a smile. It was truly a joy meeting and working with Dr. Rao. Thank you, Dr. Rao & CPS!

Dr Rao was my second consult prior to breast augmentation surgery. The two surgeons had polar opposite recommendations but after a little more research and the great explanations and data to back up Dr Rao’s suggested plan I felt very comfortable choosing Dr Rao. Scheduling was easy, office staff was friendly and welcoming. Pre op and post op education was thorough. I got nervous about size choice and Dr Rao and nurse were so patient with my indecisiveness. They were able to help guide my decision without feeling like they were just pushing me. Recovery and results were beyond my expectations. My scars are minimal and the final result is natural looking and I am so happy and confident post my surgery. Highly recommend Dr Rao.

I got referred to Dr. Samir Rao by my cancer surgeon. What a phenomenal reference - he is a great and a blessed surgeon and an equally great person. In a way, I think God made up for my cancer by introducing me to Dr. Rao. He is very patient and overlooks sometime easily offending comment. His staff (front office, patient coordinator Laramie, nurses - Tina and other nurses) are equally kind and compassionate. Front staff office is very welcoming and accommodating. For my every appointment, I have ended up calling them that I am stuck in traffic and will be a bit delayed and they have always put me at ease. If you are in D.C./MD/NOVA area, you cannot go wrong with Dr. Samir Rao. I have written a lengthy review but unfortunately there are limitations on this site so will have to end here now.

Having worked in HC for 30 years, I did my homework and interviewed 10 plastic surgeons and their offices. Every step of the way, the folks at CPS outdid their competition. From the front desk to the clinical interaction and followup, everything was top notch. After my procedure, the great service continued and I have remarkable results. I am scheduled for another procedure this spring.

Dr. Rao and the staff were great from start to finish. I needed surgery and needed it done quickly and Dr. Rao was able to make that happen, stress free. Now that I'm fully healed I am very pleased with the results, I highly recommend Dr. Rao

Dr. Rao is simply amazing. I had a prodedure done a few months ago that was a very sensitive, personal decision. Dr. Rao’s bedside manner, kindness and expertise immediately put me at ease. I couldn’t be happier with my results!

Dr. Rao was incredibly profession and kind during our consultation. His office is beautiful and the staff is super friendly and accommodating. I can't speak highly enough about Dr. Rao. He is so respectful and offers great advice based on his expert medical knowledge. He is incredibly well trained and personable. He explained all the risks and benefits to me very clearly. I would not pick any other physician to operate on me other than him. He is awesome.

Worst experience in my entire life! On my consultation visit, Dr. Rao was very pleasant and explained to me the breast reduction surgery he could do on me. I also wanted to know if he could remove some fat from below the breast. He said he could, but it will cost me. I accepted and scheduled the surgery. Unfortunately, I didn't get the expected results. He asked me to be patient, but after a few months, I still had a small breast high up on the right side and a large bread drooping on the left.
