Dr.Cantù has been great!
Dr.Cantu has truly listened to my daughter’s stomach/gastro problems and has worked hard to figure out what is causing her pain. He has been so friendly every appointment and the staff have been great as well! Highly recommend!

I took my five year old in for digestive issues that he was having. It was recommended that we do an endoscopy and pH probe. At the time they also found high levels of eosinophil inflammation markers. I never got to see an actual test result. The only way I was communicated with was through the patient portal messaging system. After doing some research on my own I found a differential diagnosis that I wanted to discuss with Dr Cantu. After jumping through hoops trying to message him I finally got a response about a month later. He disagreed with me and insisted that I just put my son on Prilosec. If I wanted to put him on a proton pump inhibitor I would have done so without spending $27,000 trying to identify a root cause. But thanks a lot. My son is still having digestive issues and we are trying to navigate it on our own. I sure do wish we could trust doctors nowadays especially at an institution that was presented as being top in the nation.

He couldn't figure out what was wrong with my daughter. Instead of just telling us that, he just ignored all of our follow up requests. Since he wouldn't respond after multiple messages, we had our records sent from Cooks to a new GI dr. Following that we received a certified letter from him stating he would he, nor any doctor at his would practice will not be treating my daughter anymore. She was a 6 year old girl in pain everyday and deserved a doctor who cared. Thankfully we found one. Please do your child a favor and take them elsewhere.

Saw this dr for a year. Only after I INSISTED he do a scope did he find that my son had a horrible infection. He was SURPRISED (his words) to find ulcers and pus. I had only been telling him for a year that my son cried daily complaining of stomach pain. He kept saying it was constipation even though he pooped daily. After scope still couldn’t tell us what type of infection or why he got it. Needless to say we have a new dr now. Cantu was dismissive, arrogant, and in a hurry always.

We had the first appointment of the morning. We waited 45 minutes in a exam room to be seen. Dr. Cantu didn't even look at our daughter. He literally said/read the exact same thing as the Endocrinologist and wrote us a prescription that our pediatrician already offered to write. It didn't feel like much effort was given to our situation. The appointment was completely unnecessary and wasted everyone's time.
