I recently moved and needed someone to continue my treatment so I went to Dr. Kugel despite reviews. I waited 1.5 hrs to have a 20 min appointment. I've had psychiatric treatment since 2013, so I know the ins and outs. Some are great and some are awful. Dr. Kugel is one of the awful ones. First off, a new patient intake should NEVER be 20 min long. How are you supposed to have an understanding of a complicated psychiatrist history in that time? If he wasn't interrupting me, his phone ringing and him answering was. Or even better, a nurse coming in and having a non-emergency conversation with him. Not once did he care to ask me what treatments/meds have worked for me, questioned my diagnosis, and invalidated all my experiences. He then proceeded to spew false information (like how Lamictal and Klonopin aren't used to treat bipolar- FAKE NEWS!!), accused me of doing Crystal, and assumed I was an idiot. Also, NONE of the staff, including Dr. Kugel, were following COVID protocol.

Dr. Kugel has cared for my brother for years. He also cares about the client being able to interact with the family and the world around them. Thank you Dr. Kugel for all that you have done for my brother and our family. Sincerely, Laura B.

He is very helpful and very intelligent i don't nori e any different from the meds i take but others seem to. His office is always fool so how can anyone say he is not a good person. He makes time and cares for alot of people a d yes it's frustrating sometimes but when i see him he's totally professional he gets right to the point . Right to his diagnosis , and the staff keeps things running smoothly for the amount of the patients dr. Krugel cares for. I feel he is compassionate with my experience as his patient. Stay safe and stay quarantined its s long road ahead but not even the top scientist know what to do they don't enough about it!

I just had my first appointment with Dr. Kugel- I almost went with a different doctor because of the reviews here but, thought I should not rely on that alone and I am so glad I went because I think he was great, very knowledgeable, explained things very clearly, spent a lot of time talking to me, was very empathetic. I am really happy I feel like I found a great psychiatrist.

No professionalism. Questions a patient's former doctor on qualification to give treatment and questions medication prescribed. Does not verify medications currently being taken and insists on stopping those medications right away and replacing it with his own prescription. Has no empathy and compassion for patient with depression and anxiety and minimizes severity of symptoms.
