Explained my condition so that we understood and felt secure in his care. He was never rushed always having time to talk.

Dr. Luka explained everything to me. He answered all of my million questions. My surgery was a success and I healed perfectly. I have also called a few times since and spoke to his nurse and she has also been amazing! Colon surgeries are scary. They all helped prepare me for everything! I’m grateful.

A close relative of mine had horrible complications from a robotic surgery with Dr. Luka. Almost died 3 times and it took 4 months to be able to move home again. Avoid.

Rude. Arrogant. Talks down to and over patients. Refuses to listen. Relies on outdated literature. Seems to have a singular approach with all patients, no matter their individual variables. Save your time and go somewhere else.

This guy is an idiot. He likes to hear himself talk. He talked over me every time I tried to tell him my circumstances. I don’t even know if he knew what he was treating. The other reviews on here don’t surprise me. I wish I had read them before hand. He criticized a prior doctor for prescribing a medication that he himself then prescribes not even 5 minutes later, like it was a new idea that he came up with himself. He gave me dangerous advice as far as safety of physical exercise and my condition. And he was 45 minutes late. So please do yourself a favor and seek out a better physician.

“Crohn’s is Crohn’s” - was told that in response to every single one of my questions about my spouse’s surgery. Spouse is still supportive of this doc, despite the many complications and lack of responses to multiple emergency issues (likely a hospital issue, not nec this doc), but the doc really needs to learn how to handle communications better. I don’t care if it’s just blowing smoke, or throwing out stats, or even telling me that he doesn’t know and explaining why - just talk to me instead of giving me a throw away lone sentence. I want some reassurances that we are doing the right thing.

I needed an ostomy surgery. The stoma completely retracted in my stomach so we had to do a revision. Then Dr Luka almost killed me by accidentally stapling my whole intestine closed and when I told him there was an issue he didn’t care and WENT OUTTA TOWN so 6 days later on a holiday we had to have another emergency surgery to fix it. There was another issue with his surgery requiring me to need a drain under the surgical site which paralyzed me because they used fentynol which I’m allergic to and I wouldn’t have needed any of this had he done the first surgery right in the first place. So that’s a total of three failed surgeries seeing as to this day i’m not longer paralyzed but im still having major issues! RUN
