I came to the Breast Center for a pre-surgery wire placement. During my time that day at the Breast Center and at the Surgery Center, I interacted with at least twenty nurses, technicians, doctors, and office personnel. Nineteen of those people treated me with kindness and respect. Dr. Shuffett was not among those nineteen. She spoke disrespectfully to me when she came into the room and continued to do so during the procedure. I was already nervous and scared and deeply fearful of how the biopsy might affect my future. I am writing this the night of my surgery after not being able to sleep because of my trauma under her 'care.'

i went to Baptist Health for a bilateral diagnostic mammogram. A radial scar was seen in the right breast, and I had some drainage in the left breast. Dr. StuffIt scheduled me for an affirm biopsy on the rt breast. The first of the biopsy was tolerable, but the last half was terrible. My breast was not numb from the lidocaine she had injected. I told her. She stopped and supposedly injected more lidocaine. She didn’t wait for it to numb. Dr. StuffIt had scheduled me for an mri of the left breast due to drainage. I had the mri. Three places showed up on the mri. So I had to have the mri repeated. Only two of the places showed up again. Therefore, she had to do two biopsies guided by the mri. I had taken Valium 20 mg because I am claustrophobic. I was still very nervous because I wasn’t numb with last biopsy. I discussed it with her. She gave me the option of the lidocaine or another medication. I almost passed out from pain when I got home. Will never see Dr Shufitt again. .

Dr Shuffett performed an insertion of a guided wire. She did not wait long enough for the lidocaine to take effect and procedure was unneccessarily painful. I spoke with the tech about it and she said it was an issue that the radiologists did not take the time to let the lidocaine take effect. Several weeks later I went in for mammogram and targeted ultrasound due to new lump and breast changes. I felt like my concerns were brushed off. I don't recommend or trust her.

I had previously been to the office years ago to see Dr. Adkins. I found a large mass last week and an appt was made for February 14th for a mammogram (my history with many masses on left breast and 2 different surgeries, genetic testing, mri's stereo something at this same office. After mam the us tech did us. She said Dr. Shuffett would come in to explain and go over my concerns. The woman never bothered! The tech said Dr. Shuffett said I just had cyst, NO DUH!WOULD NEVER SEE THIS DR!

She performed a breast biopsy on me October 17, 2016. The results were not concordant. She recommended another biopsy. I had questions. She would not call or communicate with me in any way. By the end of November I was tired of waiting on her and decided to get a second opinion at another facility. Would not recommend Dr. Shuffett or the Baptist Health Breast Center in Lexington, Ky. to anyone.
