Dr. Swantek was jaded and had bedside manor, (but maybe I caught her at a bad time). Rather than treating me personally, she lumped me in with where I was attending school, and said that if I didn't do what she said, I would end up down a bad path, and that she would withhold her recommendation so that I could no longer attend school. She said that she'd seen a lot of people from my school, and didn't seem to understand that we were all different people with different circumstances. She said I might be bipolar, and while discussing treatment options with her, I brought that up a few times (the 'might be' part) and she because frustrated with me and said "I take it back, you ARE bipolar!" which later, I learned from a psychiatrist that she might have been better off saying that I suffered from bipolar disorder rather than using that phrasing. I'm sure she may have helped others at a time, but she was a bad fit for me in 2008. She should retire or re-think her values and demeanor.

Getting worse with time. Confusing new med instructions led to a call for clarification: she returned my call 6 days later. I Clarified by calling pharmacist who also found the directions confusing. When I asked if a new med should be taken with or without food, (I take a lot of meds and supplements with many requiring dosage an empty stomach) she replied to me as if I was a child: "You know medicines always work better after eating." WHAT? I don't even know why I bother to see her.
