Went to see Dr. Sanjeev Suritwala at an office of Northwell Orthopedic in Great Neck on a referral from another patient. The Doctor prescribed a minimally invasive procedure to repair a spinal fracture. Insurance initially refused the procedure requiring the doctor to file an appeal. I waited approximately 30 days and then contacted the doctor’s office to obtain an update. I left two messages, neither were returned. Coincidentally I was contacted by the insurance company on another matter and asked them to check on the status of my appeal. I was told no appeal has been filed in this case. I then called the doctor’s office to speak with the doctor and got his secretary. She checked and sure enough, no appeal was ever submitted. And they had no idea it was not. Doctor has no mechanism to track his patients. I asked twice to have the doctor call me and he never did. Patient experience with Dr. Suritwala and his practice is a zero. Would never recommend.

Is very knowledgeable; does not speak legalese and more important, actually examines you instead of just typing notes into computer while you explain your reasons for the visit.
