Scheduled appt with Dr. Sakamoto. Was treated/seen by a PA and not doctor. Received cortisone shot for trigger finger. Within a week, symptoms began to start again. Called and asked to be contacted by the PA. No return call. Called again a couple of weeks later, again asking to be contacted to be contacted. No calls. Trigger finger is now as bad as when it was when I went in for treatment. In short, treatment did not last for more than a week. No follow-up even after two requests to be contacted.

An emergency visit that she added to her full schedule. She was easy to communicate with and was open to an unusual situation. Her staff was very friendly and helpful as well.

Dr. Sakamoto is amazing. She is so intelligent and thorough. She is very meticulous about her work. She does excellent follow up care. She answers all of your questions and explains things in a way you can perfectly understand. She is very kind and gentle. I was a RN for 23 years and I was so impressed with all of her care. My surgery went wonderfully. She took time to communicate with my other doctor to come up with the best post op care. I have chronic health issues. She is awesome!!!!!

I Do Not Recommend Dr Sakamoto for a cortisone wrist injection. She ignored the notes of my mainland hand surgeon and overinjected my wrist. The result was an extremely painful purple hand and forearm for over a week.

Dr. Sakamoto was amazing when I feel and broke my hip and needed emergency hip surgery while visiting our daughter in Kailua, she came rapidly to the hospital ER, explained everything well, and performed my surgery within hours of my accident. Her associate, Dr. Salassa, did my follow up exam as Dr, Sakamoto was away and was also wonderful.

Being very dissatisfied with the follow thru of my previous surgeon was given Dr. Sakamoto's name with high regard. She was everything and more I expected spending the time she intently listening, not interrupting but to clarify. She began me immediately on physical therapy for my broken wrist, gave me a new brace, etc. My previous surgeon may have done a good job with the surgery, but needed a doctor willing to provide excellent follow through and made me feel that someone cared!
