Go To Nemours
Peds referred us to Dr. Roy. I should’ve stopped going when I waited forever for our pre-surgery visit and then was told we would have to see his PA bc Dr Roy was late. I got up & left, bc I obviously wanted to see my son’s surgeon before his surgery for tubes. With one son, Dr. Roy left his glasses at home, so we had to wait hours for his wife to bring them to the surgery center. With my other son, we were in the waiting room for 6 HOURS the day of surgery. His office staff is not any better. We now go to Nemours and are so happy!

Dismisses Concerns
We have been going to Dr. Roy for many years. We had a positive experience with our oldest when they were in need of ear tubes. That child has had zero problems since then and for that, I am thankful. The last few years have not been positive with my other children. I find that he dismisses concerns and it is done so in a rather condescending manner. His P.A., Matt, isn't much better. God forbid you even question his plan of care or inquire further, be prepared to get a curt response. I find him to be very arrogant and talks down to anyone who tries to even try to ask a simple question. Perhaps it is his ethnicity or culture that causes him to act in this manner, however his bedside manner needs some serious improvement. I will say that the staff at CenterOne, where he performs surgery, is pretty good, for the most part. My pediatrician initially referred us to Nemours ENT for my smallest children, however I opted to come here due to our prior positive experience. Wish I had not!

Zero Care for Child
We took our daughter who is one and has had chronic ear infections. We figured it was likely she would need tubes. What we didn’t account for was that you can get more friendly and better customer service at a drive through. The appointment was all of two minutes, he explained nothing, was annoyed when I asked how to treat her ear infections between now and when we have surgery. I have never had such a negative and dismissive experience in healthcare. They were quick to get us in so we were relieved we would be getting answers, apparently we booked an appointment with the tube factory and we were just next on the list. Do not advise, find someone else who can do the same thing while showing some compassion.

Wouldn’t recommend, not patient-focused
Beware of this surgeon. He doesn’t listen to parents and will recommend surgery without any conservative care or real follow up after initial visit. His scheduling staff will pretty much yell at you for asking clarifying questions to understand the billing process and your appointment with Dr Roy will be 5minutes. He will not answer any questions and will send in a kind but uneducated young man to come in and also not answer questions. Surgery is a big decision, even if common and outpatient, this group of people has forgotten about their patient and their focus is centered on themselves. Would not recommend. Pay attention to the reviews.

My daughter had tonsil surgery last Friday with Dr. Roy. Our discharge paperwork advises to monitor for a fever after surgery as did the nurses in the surgical center. We were advised that a low grade fever was normal for a 3-4 days but anything above that was not. My daughter has had fevers of 102-103.5 consistently and we are on day 6 after surgery. I informed their office on Monday and they claimed this was normal. My pediatrician and the surgical center both confirmed it was not. We went in to see our pediatrician after no response from Dr. Roy’s office, and they were very surprised Dr Roy’s office had not been responsive and is not interested in seeing her. The surgical center also thought we should speak with Dr. Roy’s office concerning the fevers. I left 3 voicemails yesterday as her fever was still 102 and did not get a call back until this morning. They stated they were too busy and unable to see her and show NO interest in seeing her. If you plan for your young child to have surgery I do NOT recommend this practice as you will have a 3 minute interaction with the surgeon prior to the operation and that is ALL. Absolutely zero follow up/concern for how she is doing after and even when concern is expressed the lack of interest is beyond upsetting. I expressed to the nurse who finally called me back that I would expect SOME sort of follow up care after surgery from the surgeons office and a check or concern for potential complications and they just said “Ok. See your pediatrician. We can’t get her seen today or tomorrow.” Disappointed in their office and in myself for not doing better due diligence before selecting them.

Horrible experience. Dr Roy is condescending, rude and dismissive of all of my concerns. He was in a hurry and the appointment was rushed. As a busy mom of 5, it took a lot for me to finally make an appointment for this long-standing issue. And he interrupted me multiple times, dismissing all of my concerns. I left with no plan of action, this was a complete waste of time.

Wish I never went!!
This entire office visit was a waste of time. Nobody in waiting room except us and we waited 45 minutes past of scheduled time. Dr. came in, 30 second appointment, rudely made us feel like we wasted HIS time. I'm so tired of the lack of manners by some of these offices; not just the doctors but the entire staff.

My child suffered for 18 months with Nemours ENT. That refuse to operate until he gets better. And she couldn’t help him get better. After so many antibiotics and wrong diagnosis and everyday fever 103-105F I finally ask the PCP to recommend another ENT and we meet Dr. Roy our savior. In less than two months he diagnosed tested and operated on my boy. Since that day he hasn’t been sick finally breathe normally without any problems. God bless you Dr. Roy I am grateful for you and what you do.

Doctor recommended surgery for ear tube removal without even a hearing test and any other less invasive options first. Told me my fears were irrational and prescribed steroids and antibiotics for my son to prep for surgery when he had no illness or infection. 2nd opinion with hearing test determined surgery unnecessary. Irresponsible behavior led us to switch docs

After waiting for 1 hour, doctor told us that we have to see another doctor. Then, they charged us $ 300 for a visit. I called the Office three times to dispute, but nobody called back. Doctor did not bother trying to find out what was the cause of the condition. We were treated just like one of his inventory. This is the worst experience I have had. I would not recommend to anyone.

Dr. Roy recently operated on both of my twin boys- 17 months old and in need of ear tubes. One also needed to have his adenoids removed. I can't speak more highly of the level of care and attention we received from Dr. Roy and his staff. From all of our appointments taking place either on time or as soon as we got there (when early) to the level of attention and care we were given during each step of the process, I can honestly say that Dr. Roy surpassed my highest expectations.

My 10yr old son has a sunflower seed stuck in his throat so our PCP referred us to Dr. Roy. After an unsuccessful attempt to remove it we were sent home and told to have him gargle warm salty water. They refused to sedate him because "it's not that serious". He's 10 YEARS OLD! Was it that shocking he cried and gagged? It's been 24 hours since he's eaten due to the pain. $200 later we still? have no resolution. UNACCEPTABLE!

Rushed first visit and he was very quick to mention surgery. Second visit we waited over an hour and ten minutes. The day before surgery as I attempted to fill my child's prescription at the local drug store he didn't even take the time to fill in the amount on the prescript, so they wouldn't fill it. Walgreens and myself called the office number and we received a disconnect number. Once I got through the nurse tried to blame Walgereens and myself. I just couldn't trust this doctor
