My experience has been terrible. I have been a pt of dr Subbiah for approx 3 years. recently I went in to see him due to numbness and tingling. he ordered and MRI of my back. My follow up visit was with one of his PA's. she stated I would need a surgery . She described the procedure. Which I do not think is in her scope of practice. Post this visit I had 2 appts scheduled both of which were cancelled with no reason. I have been trying to schedule a surgical consultation and they have been giving me the run around for reasons unknown. I again made appt only to see another PA .I explained I should see the MD and that I had received a consultation elsewhere and would like a second opinion. She stated she would set up a phone consultation. I agreed. Well the day came and went with no contact from Dr Subbiaah. I plan on reporting the office staff for this behavior.

Waited 3 weeks for appt. Night before office calls and an aggressive receptionist told me I would be seeing PA instead of Dr. and that it would be at a location that was farther away. No exam. Just referral to another physician. Would not recommend. Total waste of time and resources.

ACDF Success
My experience with Dr. Subbaiah was amazing. I was terrified at the thought of having surgery on my neck but Dr. Subbaiah assured me I would be good as new before I knew and he was right. I had ACDF of C5-7. The nerve pain, numbness, and headaches I had prior to surgery were unbearable. From the moment I returned home from surgery I could tell that 100% of my nerve pain was gone. The only pain I had left was surgical. 4 weeks after surgery I was in Disney World walking 35K steps per day from morning till night. Every single person I came in contact with through this journey was great and always made me feel confident about my decision. This was the best decision I could have made.

Too bad there isn’t a zero! I went to see this Dr for sciatica with high expectations, based on reviews and a doctor recommendation. At first I booked an appointment close to home in Wading River. As I was ready to leave home I received a called that he was cancelling. A week later we drove 45 minute to E Setauket the day after a snow storm. An assistant spent 5 minutes at most with me. Then the doctor came. The visit was so brief I had no time for questions. Without examining me he said I have three choices, physical therapy, injections or surgery and to have an MRI done. That was the extent of my visit with him. His office staff was not any better. I went for my MRI elsewhere but I never heard about the results. Today I called to have the results sent to my internist. She said to call the radiologist myself. Really!!! I said she should do it since he was my doctor and he should review it. She said she would do so immediately. This DR needs to realize he is not the only DR on LI !!

My experience with Dr. Subbaiah was brief and he didn't offer much in the way of treatment. Over the last month, I have spent more time leaving him messages and speaking with multiple PA's, trying to get answers and help for the pain that I've been experiencing. There is an extreme lack of empathy and bedside manner, as well as follow through.

Always takes whatever time is needed to fully explain condition, options, procedures, and takes the time to answer questions until you are content. Great bedside manner. Have been a patient for many years and wouldn’t consider anyone else.

I had 2 other opinions with Orthopedic surgeons but decided that I wanted one more with a neurosurgeon. Dr Subbaiah was highly recommended. I was very impressed with his patience when explaining the ACDF surgery plus he even discovered a problem with a soon to be herniated disc (which the previous surgeon didn’t pick up on). He has a calming bedside manner which helped me to not feel so anxious! I had the surgery 5 weeks ago & am coming along nicely. Pain has diminished considerably. Unfortunately we are in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic so I cannot attend physical therapy but was given exercises to do at home. I did have some swallowing issues but was reassured it would diminish (it did) & to not hesitate to call if I had further issues. I would highly recommend Dr. Subbaiah to anyone having cervical spine issues!! He’s an excellent surgeon & a compassionate person!

BOTH Dr Subbaiah & Dr Chen are incredible doctors. They are kind compassionate caring and phenomenal surgeons. My husband had a minimal invasive procedure for spinal stenosis came out of operation sitting in a chair with a cup of coffee a cookie and no pain at all. I could not believe itCame home and did not have one pain through the Total Recovery. Nor did he have one pain pill. It was almost like a miracle5 years ago and he is still doing well today. They are called "Book ENDS".The Best Surgeons

Dr. Sabbaiah & the whole staff is very helpful & knowledgeable. They were kind & always have an answer for any questions that I had. I was well informed of what was wrong with me, the procedure & what needed to be done. the surgery i feel was a success & was very painless. My recovery, even though I'm just 12 days out of surgery is very easy going so stressless. I appreciate all they have done for me.
