Dr. Satish Gowda, MD

I have been going to Dr. Gowda for my asthma for years. He is professional but friendly, and takes the time to talk and listen. He has really helped me with my lung issues.

Dr. Gowda is so caring and helpful and listens to you and includes you in your plan of treatment.

Doctor Gowda was very thorough and explained everything I questioned. He takes his time and makes sure you understand his instructions. I recommend him and feel he is very knowledgeable with pulmonary disease. However, the office staff needs improvement. They do not return calls, nor to they follow up on ordering requested prescriptions. They do not respond to faxes that require their attention. Perhaps they are understaffed.

Doctor was EXCELLENT! Got appointment with him in a week after being jacked around by Dr Ahmud @ Barrington Hospital for over a month. Highly recommend Dr Gowda, he ordered blood work & High Definition CT Scan,both done in 2 days!!

Dr. Gowda bills you for everything. I was charged about $100 for a phone call. Dr. Gowda requires a minute long appointment for a test referral. The minute-long appointment will cost you about $200. Dr. Gowda will NOT let you know your lab test results. He requires another appointment to hear those results. Stay away from this doctor. He will nickel and dime you.

Nobody answered the McHenry phone number most days of the week At my first and last visit when I went to pay they did not have any equipment to process my card. The receptionist wrote down my credit card information on a piece of paper and left my information on her desk in full view of everybody else that walked up to that desk. A few days later my payment was processed but I watched my bank account carefully for a few months to make sure no unauthorized charges had been processed. I called today to respond to voicemail I got from the billing department. I left a message but nobody has called back as of yet. So I called again and was told by the receptionist or whoever that she could not hear me so I raised my voice so that she could hear me and she told me not to yell. I then was disconnected. This place is very unprofessional and I don't see any reason to go back

I had a follow-up appt. yesterday with Dr. Gowda. When I got the office, I found out they had moved. No one told me. I googled him, found out the new office info and called, only to find out that they had already left for the day. They moved. Cancelled my appointment. Didn't tell me. When I called the "new" office located in Elgin I was told that he is actually in Barrington and McHenry and that they sent letters to "some" patients. He also kept pushing me to take Ambien. No thanks.

Dr. seemed very knowledgeable regarding asthma. Very professional, thoroughly explained the condition and different treatment options. However, I don't know if this is the fault of the Dr or office staff, but over the last year that I've been a patient, I have NEVER received a phone call back regarding prescription refills or urgent appointment requests (this is asthma, so a strong attack is of immediate concern). I always need to repeatedly call, and usually give up and go to the ER
