I made the best decision making an appointment with Dr. Brown. I have had knee issues my whole life now 65 . He was so very nice, explained my issues and options. My decision was to have knee replacement and I could not be any more satisfied Dr. Brown is an amazing surgeon. 'Thank you very much!!

Wonderful!
After being seen for several years by another doctor at Rothman I was scheduled for knee replacement surgery in August 2023. In a pre-op visit I was informed by the assigned surgeon that he was retiring and was reassigning me to another surgeon at Rothman. I was devastated, but only because it took me years to finally accept I needed the surgery. However, I also believe everything happens for a reason. I was reassigned to Dr. Scott Brown and his team. Everyone on Dr. Brown's team was wonderful. I received my 1st new knee in August of 2023 and the 2nd in January 2024. I went home the same day with both surgeries. I did everything I was instructed to do making my recovery and therapy at Rothman go very smoothly, and quick. I am no longer in pain and my new joints move wonderfully. My family and I are ever so grateful for the compassion and professionalism Dr. Brown and his team provided. I even recommended a coworker to Dr. Brown, who also had his knees done in the past year. THANK YOU

Excellent Surgeon
Dr. Brown was very thorough in explaining the TKR procedure. He answered all of my questions before I could ask them. He didn’t rush through any of my appointments. Very friendly and professional! I am glad that I chose him for my surgeon.

Excellent Doctor & Surgeon
I first visited Dr. Brown after suffering over 15 years with arthritis & bone spurs that were making my legs bowed. Nor the cortisone or gel shots were working any longer. Following my X-rays Dr. Brown pleasantly greeted me and was very engaging in explaining my X-rays, my options and most of all he stressed that the decision was mine to make. Dr. Brown answered all of my questions including, my questioning his experience and the number of knee surgeries that he has done. I decided to have my TLKR. Dr. Brown explained the surgery & was very honest about what I could expect from the surgery, recovery & rehab. My surgery & recovery went well. Dr. Brown’s nurse followed up with me once I was home to see how I was doing & inform me how to reach Dr. Brown’s team if I needed anything. Needless to say, when I’m ready to have my TRKR, I plan on staying with Dr. Brown & without a doubt, I have recommended Dr. Brown to family and friends. Great Dr. & Great Team !!!

Lack of professionalism
Very rude and not at all helpful. Was nasty towards me and condescending telling me about my pain and got worse when I corrected him. Would not recommend without a professional medical advocate as he bullies med students as well into silence. Awful experience will not be returning

Long Wait, Quick to Recommend Surgery
I waited nearly two hours in an exam room for Dr. Brown and, expected a thorough exam and the same attention that others received. I did not receive this. He showed me my xrays and immediately went into discussing knee replacement. I am only 50 years old so the diagnosis alone blew me away let alone the suggestion of knee surgery. I had to asked about alternatives and was told he would get to them. He was nice enough, but surgery should not be presented as the first option. I also would not use him for a surgeon knowing that I would be experiencing such long waits for follow ups. The region is filled with great doctors and although he may be great, there were too many negatives for me.

Best knee repair ever
Was referred to Dr Brown by another orthopedic surgeon at an other hospital. Had a slip and fall at work, did some severe damage to my knee which had a prosthetic /knee replacement back in 2013. The damage required a total knee revision. Dr. Brown explained what was required in order to get me back on my feet, and the time frame for healing. The procedure went well as expected, there were a couple of unexpected bumps in the healing process that were from an allergic reaction from the antiseptic wipes used to prep before the operation. Lesson learned on my part. Dr Brown was on top of it and the healing went on with no other problems. After following his instructions during the healing process, I’m back to work and able to do everything I was before the accident. He is very polite, tells it as it is, and always available when needed. Will highly recommend him to everyone that needs his service. Thank you Dr Brown. Great job!

Dr Brown and Amanda we’re very informative and provided details for pre and post upcoming full knee replacement surgery. Both took time an answered all my questions and I did not feel rushed. Dr. Brown did my hip surgery in Dec. 21, and I wish I had the surgery two years ago instead of suffering through daily pain. I was up and moving around with ease in time for the Holidays!

Waiting time ridiculous
Waited for over one hour to see Dr. Brown and another 45 minutes in the exam room…. I thought they forgot I was waiting and when I questioned the waiting time, some blonde nurse came in yelling… she was extremely rude and made the experience more unpleasant. Spend about 10 minutes with the doctor….told me I needed a hip operation.

ZERO! Scot Brown was extremely unprofessional, condescending, dismissive, & very combative. I was referred to him by two Rothman doctors, one is my surgeon. Without any type of examination, he immediately said he couldn't treat me. When I asked why the other two doctors thought he was the person I should see, he threw up his hands & shrugged & said "you would have to ask them." I said, "I am a patient, do you think you could call & ask them?" He was wearing a Patagonia jacket w/ the Jefferson name embroidered on it & we were at Jefferson location, yet he told me that he couldn't access my records which I had previously had at a Jefferson location bc "I don't work for Jefferson...I work for Rothman." I was shocked by this statement & his lack of professionalism, bc we were at a Jefferson facility, & he was wearing a Jefferson jacket, but he did not make any effort to try to access my records or help. I can't imagine going to a doctor and having a worse experience. Just terrible!

My most recent appointment with Dr. Scot Brown was my two year follow up for repairing a Giant Cell Tumor in my right tibia and also the replacement of both knees. These three corrections were done successfully and have truly returned my life to normal. His professionalism, knowledge and caring manner were and continue to be a comfort though this whole experience. He and his staff are alway pleasant, helpful and available either by visit or phone. My questions and concerns are always addressed in a clear and understandable manner.
