Very Dismissive
This was my first time seeing Dr. Berkenblit for a knee issue. I was first seen by a nurse or technician who was very friendly and professional and wrote down my concerns. I had an exray done of my knee and then met with Dr. Berkenblit. He asked me a few questions but cut me off midsentence each time. He was quite dismissive of my problem since as he put it 'there was no arthritis in the knee and I did not need surgery. If the problem continues, come back,' That was it. Visit over in 10 minutes. His waiting room was standing room only. I guess that is why because patients are treated as if on an assembly line. This was the worst experience I have had in some time. Full disclosure, I have not lived in the US in 10 years and had my medical, dental, and vision concerns treated in Vietnam, China, Singapore, Egypt, India, and Nigeria by very caring and competent doctors in international clinics that serve most expats. These doctors took the time to listen before suggesting treatment.

Started going to Doc B in 2017,after hip replacement I had alot of pain 1yr post-op. Continued to yell him something was wrong. He finally did a Bursectomy. Didn't help. It got to the point he would listen or explain anything. Had knee replacement and he treated me like I was nobody. I still have horrible pain in hip and thigh. Went to a REAL SPECIALIST. With one xray I got a diagnosis. Now facing a horrific surgery to correct his work. Never again will I go bac to him. His office manager is a B...H. She acts like she owns Precision Ortho.

Horrible
First of all, there weren't enough chairs in the waiting room so people were standing. Clearly they overbook. I sat in my car until they called me. Took about 90 minutes for him to finally see me. When he did, he was rushing, talking over me and not listening to what I was saying to him. As long as I waited, the least he could do would have been to give me 10 minutes of his time to listen to my concerns. He didn't seem to sure with some of his answers and then suggested surgery. After that bad experience and reading some of these other reviews, I will NEVER go back to him!! I am truly surprised that he still has patients with his terrible bedside manner.

Doesn’t Listen/Doesn’t Seem to Care
VERY disappointed with my visit. While the support staff was great, the doctor was not. Dr. Birkenblit gave my knee a cursory prod and rudely rushed through the appointment. I had to stop him several times to ask questions that he barely answered. Not a candidate for surgery - that’s good to hear. Guess he won’t make any big money off this patient. Had I not mentioned physical therapy, I doubt he would have said something. I had to stop him from walking out the door. “Okay, bye, see you in 4 weeks.” I don’t think so. It’s the physical therapists that do all the real hard work anyway.

Worse ever
He is very cold, hearted, he comes into the room and he don’t listen to what you have to say. He only spent two minutes in the room with you and when you try to explain something, he totally ignores you. He grabbed my knee and hurt me on 2 occasions and when I try to explain what was going on it was like I’m talking to myself. He doesn’t respond. Dr. B and Thompson are the best and they are very compassionate, they are the best Doctors. They are the total opposite from him. He has never spent more than two minutes with me.I’m always disappointed when I leave from seeing him. Like when I went to him for knee replacement approval he did another surgery which made my knee worse and I told him that. Then 6 weeks later I’m getting knee replacement and leg was still in a lot of pain. I told the other O.R doctor that the surgery he did poor made it worse and him. After my knee replacement the plain etc had me in a very dark place. I will never go back to him.

Didn't listen to my concerns. Zero empathy. 12 weeks after hip replacement surgery, my hip is getting worse and the pain is horrible. He made my leg over 1/2" longer than the other leg, which makes walking extremely difficult and causes extreme back pain and pain in my other hip. I have never been so frustrated in my life. When presented with this info, this doctor said I was "standing crooked" and holding my hips "crooked"!!!!! Perhaps I was BECAUSE HE MADE THEM THAT WAY! I wouldn't recommend Berkenblit to my worst enemy. I'm frustrated and angry. I'm 51 years old and may never walk normally or be pain free again because of his incompetence.

difficulty communicating
Doctor Berkenblit performed surgery on my left wrist. The surgery went well at least I think it it did. but the aftercare leaves MUCH to be desired. 5 days after surgery I ran out of pain medications. I have been trying to get refills for 3 days now. I was just told after a further 2 hour wait that he hasn't responded to his emails yet. It would be a different story if he were there. You mean like yesterday when I called Twice. Actually my first phone call was Monday morning. I was told why don't we wait until he comes in tomorrow. I said fine. I called the next day in the morning was told he would take care of it as soon as he got in. Later that day around noon) I called and was told he would take care of it after he saw his patients for the day. 4PM rolls around and nothing. So I call again this morning. I am told Im sorry I will contact him. 2 hours later still nothing and another fruitless phone call. Don't go to this doctor if you expect any relief from the pain he causes you.

I had a complete knee replacement - while Dr. B is not touchy feely he is more than competent - i was out of hospital in 24 hours and my recovery was fast and clean - very little pain and my PT folks were amazed at my ROM within a few days - I attribute this to his abilities, education, and willingness to leave me ready to recover - I was driving within 2 days of staple removal and using no walker or cane within 5 days of surgery

The office staff is horrible. Very lazy and not patient friendly. Dr does not take the time to listen to patient . Fast to give a diagnosis without out much explanation or willingness to ask if you have any questions. I do not recommend this kind of patient support at all.
