Ceased care and sent to ER!
Dr Cooper should not be practicing. Dropping patients and just sending them to the ER if they had a problem isn't being a neurologist. I believe the oath contains the phrase 'first, do no harm.' He ordered steroid treatment for severe MS flare-up, took office staff two additional days to send orders to the infusion center; then ordered steroids discontinued cold turkey after 10 days (1,000 mg dose on the last day), and told me to go to the ER if I needed additional care. The flare-up still going full-force, waist down feels like on fire. Guess I will be going to the ER. Won't be Northside. DO NOT GO TO DR. COOPER.

I can definetly recommend Dr. Cooper
If you’re on time; Dr. Cooper will most likely be on time or early. He definitely will spend the time to listen and evaluate your condition and concerns and is extremely knowledgable. Even as a new patient without me filling out any major paperwork he had already looked at an MRI I had done weeks earlier from a previous Dr. (my ENT). His bedside manners are fantastic. He cares for his staff and patients. 100% I can recommend.

RUDE EMMA
This is the worse and rudest office I’ve ever been to. This visit was scheduled over a month ago and yes, I was late due to having the wrong time on my calendar .I was treated so disrespectful by Emma (front desk ) she had no compassion for what I was trying to explain to her in regards to why I was late and the extreme pain I am suffering and really wanted to see someone today. When I was expressing my concern of her being rude to not only me but the other family that was there , Emma told me if I didn’t like it I can walk out . I then asked for an office manager and she said she’d get Dr.Cooper instead another person came out to tell me I was late ( as if I didn’t already know that). Never again will I ever step foot in this office .

If I could give “0” stars, I would
From the front desk people to the clinical staff and the doctor himself this place is by far the worst doctors office i have ever been to and experienced. Everyone is rude and short with you. When you don’t understand something they are hateful and treat you like you’re nobody. No one returns phone calls and they do not take accountability for their actions. There is no communication in the office or with the patients. You are not treated like a patient here. You’re a number or a dollar sign.. and when you voice your opinion or concern the staff make you feel like it’s your fault. Avoid this officer!

Dr. Cooper took time to not only exam me but listened to my health symptoms. My primary Dr. passed away a few years ago, I never could find anyone as good as he was until I met Dr. Cooper and his staff. Everyone is so caring, call personally to keep me informed of my health status. Thank you! ??

GO TO CHOA FIRST!!!
His under dosing a child for the proper weight resulting in massive seizures with increasing frequency. Suggested our child was faking headaches that took us to the ER several times. Turning his back on our child in an emergency of his causing. That turned out to be a blessing in disguise bc we rushed our child to CHOA ER. Thanks to the very competent doctors at CHOA who quickly diagnosed the problem on our first visit we are almost three years seizure . It took two brain surgeries to correct the damage done and lots of work still to go but bottom line is this: NO MATTER WHAT. TAKE YOUR KIDS TO CHOA. THEY’RE THE BEST ,THEY LOVE YOUR CHILD,AND IT SHOWS IN THEY WAY THEY TREAT THE PATIENTS AND THE PARENTS AND MOST IMPORTANTLY THE RESULTS!

Arrogant , rude , no compassion
The most rude staff. My 84 year old mother was 8 minutes late and the refused her service. This staff is beyond rude. They act as if they are god. My mother waited for over a month for this treatment. You and your staff act as though you are the chosen ones. The way you treat our elderly is beyond disgusting. Now my 84 year old mother continues to to suffer and can’t sleep from hallucinations because you would not see her. Your words ( she can hang out and wait for a cancellation. Or come back in a month or go to an emergency room. Yes you said that to an 84 year old wheel chair bound woman. You and your staff should be ashamed of yourself . But judging by the way you treat our senior citizens you evidently don’t care and I’m sure your conscience won’t bother you. After reading the many 1 star reviews I’m surprised Northside allows you to operate there. I will be lodging a complaint with Northside and anyone else I possibly can. Absolutely disgusting lack of respect and dignity.

Horrible experience
My Husband has several strokes after open heart surgery. We went to Dr. Cooper. The nurse that gave my husband a basic neurology quiz was callous and laughed repeatedly when my husband said the same answer for every question. I did not want to upset my husband so I calmly asked her not to laugh at him. She said she was trying to make the patient comfortable, to which I replied he is not in on the joke. Dr. Cooper came in, rushed through the MRI, basically confirmed he had strokes, said he has no idea the extent of recovery and left. He was not empathetic or compassionate. We never went back and found an amazing neurologist elsewhere.

My 9 yr old daughter has chronic headaches and he prescribed her some pills that were for adults and it still didn't help... then sent her for a MRI found fluid on her cerebral and referred us to someone who said she don't need surgery she will be ok....now we are months out no word from either doctor on what to do next because she is still having migraines. We found a new one and hopefully they can help us!!

I was concerned about the negative reviews concerning both the staff at Dr. Cooper's office and Dr. Cooper himself. I went for my appointment because I had faith in my Doctor who made this referral. I had absolutely no issue with the staff and I found Dr. Cooper to be very pleasant, he did a through exam, answered all my questions and spent as much time as I need for the visit. I have no issue recommending Dr. Cooper to anyone who needs a Neurologist!

I found the front office staff to be rude and unhelpful. I sought a second opinion from Dr. Cooper concerning treatment by another Neurologist. Our first appt was rushed and he skimmed my record while in the room with me. I had hoped that a specialist would have done that prior to the appt. Dr. Cooper was amiable but I have no idea what his thoughts were etc. Pills and PT were his recommendation. Neither has worked. Long story short, symptoms progressed and I asked for a second appt with him to review past tests and talk about a diagnosis. I was directly told, "Ain't gonna happen"...I will see the NP like all others, and providers just skim the records to take in important things...the NP can diagnose." Can you imagine that? The importance and cost involved and I can't see the Doctor for a second time to discuss? I gave my feedback to the practice administrator, she was humdrum and said sorry but quick to bye bye. So darn unprofessional. Will go somewhere else.

After my husband was diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment (after asking him 3 questions in the office), we asked for a referral to a specialist for more extensive testing. He refused to make a referral. If you want a "Pill and a Bill",then he is your guy. If you want someone who can help, go somewhere else.

I read a lot of reviews of Dr. Cooper and his office before my visit and was a little concerned. But I went anyway and to my surprise I couldn’t have been treated any better. From the front office, to the room/ nurse and to check out, everyone was extremely helpful. kind. and pleasant! I didn’t wait any longer than 10 minutes in waiting room or the examining room before being seen. Dr. Cooper was very attentive and listened to all I had to say. I never once felt rushed or that I wasn’t being listened to. I would recommend this office to anyone that was looking for a neurologist. And I just love the front office ladies!

My wife was hospitalized with a difficulty walking. Dr. Cooper was the neurologist who saw her in the hospital. He said “we’ll figure it out.” He blew in and out on daily rounds and seemed disinterested at best. He did very little to delve into her problem other than order MRIs. Neither MRI was successfully completed ( but he said they were “good enough”)because he didn’t listen when told she needed IV sedation. She’s very claustrophobic and has a movement disorder. Previous MRIs were done that way. The Ativan he ordered didn’t work and caused her severe confusion. So the next day, for another MRI, he just doubled the Ativan from the day before. He would make rounds at 6:00 am and talk to my wife who had a stroke a few years ago and has memory problems. I requested that he call me after he saw her, even if was at 6:00am. Never heard from him. She was in the hospital for 6 days and I doubt he spent 30 minutes total with her. Absolutely nothing from him in the way of a diagnosis.

We went for an appt, grant it there was a total mix up of dates on our part. They said they would fit us in. We were there for results and assuming things were good because seeing practitioner, boy was I wrong! She gave the results stating my husband not only dementia but full onset. My prob is that HE should have given the diag and the wrong diag to be given is even more disturbing. When I called requesting him to call I was told he wouldn't be calling but an assistant! Wrong on so many levels

I have been a patient of Dr. Cooper's for 2 years. He is a very caring Doctor and has always been patient with me and done everything he could to help me with my rare nerve disease. He cannot stand the insurance companies and how much they charge and never want to cover my meds. If he has samples he will give them to me. I have never had to wait very long but I make my appointments very early and whatever you do..try not to be late. I was 10 minutes late and was rescuduled. LessonLVB learned.

Dr. Cooper is a very brilliant physician who thinks outside of the box. (1) The doctor doesn't just assume a diagnosis from another doctor as he investigates the symptoms himself. (2) Dr. Cooper doesn't just prescribe randomly prescribe medication for leg pain or something. The doctor draws labs to find out if you have a iron or other type of deficiency before assuming neuropathy. (3) The doctor has a very good bedside manner and explains everything in detail to the patient.
