My husband and I both received care in the Plainfield office for several years and were NEVER seen by Dr. Guenthner. Nor were we ever given the option to see him. Both of us were always treated by a PA. They were decent providers until my husband's provider told him he no longer needed yearly skin checks even though he has had malignant melanoma! I would have liked to have met Dr. Guenthner at least once since he was the doctor I requested an appointment with.

Appointment.
Quick service, very little waiting. On time. Took care of problem and out of office in record time. Great follow up care.

I went in with three issues which none of them got the solutions. Or worse, the wrong diagnosis! I told him the same thing happened before (Shingles) but he insisted it was allergic reaction to something like poison ivy. The next day, I had to go in to urgent care and it WAS Shingles. He sends his prescriptions to the pharmacy he “knows.” The pharmacy is all about selling meds! I told a person who called me that I don’t need the prescribed med as it was a wrong diagnosis to start with. Then, next thing I got was a automated call saying they are sending out medication and I owe them $$$. Never again I would go to see him. I would cancel the referral he made too for “laser treatment” as he does not feel comfortable doing laser on me as I have darker skin. Would not recommend to anyone!

Disappointed. Dr. Guenther rushes through every visit and doesn't take the time to clearly explain. Office staff is extremely rude. My daughter was having a severe reaction to medication and it took nearly 48 for a response and the nurse dismissed her concerns. As a nurse myself, when her eyes are swollen shut and lips extremely swollen with oozing rash all over her face and neck, and they tell her it's a "normal" reaction...I think not! We will be going elsewhere.

Very knowlegable but did not want to take the time to explain treatment or conditions. I felt talked down to and judged by him personally. NPs are much more friendly and not quite as rushed and less judgemental..

If Dr. Guenthner hadn't seen my husband 12 years ago, he wouldn't be alive today. He immediately realized that he had skin cancer and didn't put us off. He is very professional and would definetly recommend. He is worth the 1 1/2 hour drive to see him.

I've been seen at Dr Guenthner's practice but was seen by a NP. I was satisfied with the visit. However, When calling the office a recording made by Dr Guenthner is what you receive rather than a real person. He states a call back will be received within 24 hours but so far this has definitely not been the case when I've called to reschedule an appt. on 2 separate occasions. He states in his recording that he is happy to have you as a patient but the lack of follow up conveys the opposite.

This review is based on my experience. Did not see the Dr, met with a PA-C. They told me they were referring me to another Dr,I called twice and ask for a specific Dr and they never returned my calls.today another Dr called me to set up an appointment. It looks like they have 1Dr, 3 PA-C's and a NP-BC. I don't know where the Dr was, he was not with me and ignored my request for the Dr of my choice. He has a nice picture. But may be the only time you will see him.

From my experience, Dr. Guenthner is very knowledgeable. Unfortunately, he is usually rushed so you don't get an opportunity for a lot of discussion. I recommend writing down all of your questions prior to coming in so you don't leave anything out. The office is busy and if you call to make an appointment, they will ask if you'd like to see the nurse practitioner instead. This will greatly enhance your chances of getting a quicker appointment if that is important to you.

Very little respect shown for me. I came in for acne treatment and I was rushed in and out. The Dr. took very little time and seemed like he was in a hurry. I regret spending $125. What a waste of money for such terrible treatment. Avoid

Very poor office management! Showed up for an appointment at 7:20 am for my daughter to be told she couldn't be seen due to a balance on our account. Spoke with the office manager regarding my issue and basically was told too bad. I really feel the office should not allowed me to schedule an appointment if they would not see me due to an account issue. Or at the very least they could have told me the situation when they called to confirm my appointment. i would not recommend this office!
