Dr. Scott Holmes, DO

My first visit to Dr. Holmes was really perfect. He asked me excellent questions and answered all of mine. I felt very confident of his knowledge and expertise and of his ability to listen. All in all, the visit was very positive. The front desk staff and the nurse who helped were very friendly and attentive.

Dr. Holmes came recommended by a staff member at the office which is always a good sign. The morning of my colonoscopy there was a scheduling error at the hospital and they weren’t expecting me, but Dr. Holmes worked me in. I was so grateful after taking off work and doing the prep. The procedure was easy peasy. He was a good communicator and very friendly. Everyone made me feel comfortable. I’m happy to say my colon is a beaut!

I've had two experiences, one today 040924, and my initial one 0423. A year ago I was contacted the day before my procedure, AFTER THE PREP, with instructions I had a copay of $820. I disputed that as my monthly UCR for meds is over $4,000, plus I had been to appointments with PCP, cardiologist & endocrinologist. I called my insurer who showed $0 copay. I called Dr. Holmes staff and cancelled.THIS YEAR, I insisted upon pre procedure appointment. I provided a list of meds and detailed my symptoms. On 0401 I had a barium swallow with no abnormalities found. Gastroenterology Associates sent a PDF for prep, medicine intake and delays. AGAIN I GO THROUGH THE PREP. As I'm being checked in my use of trulicitee comes up. Oh, you have to stop that 7-10 days before procedure! It's not on the instructions provided. It wasn't discussed at previous appointment.When you are the only game in town or network, you must get all the referrals.GO ELSEWHERE, rating should be 0.

Dr. Holmes is incredibly dismissive. 8/10 Pain for 1 week, ER visit then his office visit, EGD, pain continued. If you cannot afford the expensive medicine he prescribes, then don’t bother because he refuses to do anything else. Not accommodating to patient’s who are not wealthy enough to pay for meds that aren’t covered by insurance. Unwilling to work with patients.
